About Firefox

Firefox is a secure browser that puts user privacy first. With built-in privacy controls such as cookie blocking, cryptomining blocking, and fingerprint blocking, Firefox ensures lightning-fast browsing speeds and secure browsing experiences by automatically blocking all ad trackers and other web trackers.

One of the standout features of Firefox is its commitment to user privacy. Firefox includes robust privacy protections, such as Enhanced Tracking Protection, which automatically blocks trackers and third-party cookies that follow users across the web. This feature helps prevent advertisers and other entities from collecting users' browsing data without their consent. Additionally, Firefox offers a built-in password manager called Lockwise, which securely stores and manages users' passwords, and a feature called Firefox Monitor, which alerts users if their email addresses have been part of a known data breach.

Firefox is also known for its speed and performance. The browser is built on the Quantum engine, which is designed to leverage modern hardware and multi-core processors, resulting in faster page load times and smoother browsing. Firefox's performance enhancements extend t...

o its memory usage as well, with the browser being optimized to use less memory than some of its competitors, allowing users to run multiple tabs and applications without experiencing slowdowns. Customization is another key aspect of Firefox. The browser supports a wide range of extensions and themes, allowing users to personalize their browsing experience to suit their preferences. The Firefox Add-ons website offers thousands of extensions that enhance the browser's functionality, from ad blockers and privacy tools to productivity and entertainment apps. Users can also choose from a variety of themes to change the browser's appearance, making it more visually appealing and aligned with their style. Firefox's user interface is designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate. The browser features a clean and modern design, with a customizable toolbar that allows users to access their favorite features and tools quickly. The tab management system is efficient, enabling users to organize and switch between multiple tabs with ease. Firefox also includes a built-in screenshot tool, which allows users to capture and save web pages or portions of web pages without needing to install additional software. In addition to its core features, Firefox offers several tools and services that enhance the overall browsing experience. Firefox Sync allows users to synchronize their bookmarks, history, passwords, and open tabs across multiple devices, ensuring a seamless transition between desktop and mobile browsing. The Pocket integration enables users to save articles, videos, and other web content to view later, even when offline. Firefox also supports WebAssembly and WebVR, enabling developers to create high-performance web applications and immersive virtual reality experiences. Security is a top priority for Firefox, and the browser includes several features to protect users from online threats. Firefox automatically updates to the latest version, ensuring that users have the most recent security patches and improvements. The browser also includes a built-in pop-up blocker, phishing and malware protection, and support for HTTPS Everywhere, which ensures that users connect to websites securely whenever possible.

    Firefox works great for me!

I’ve been using Firefox for a long time now. For a lot of companies I’ve worked at, their proprietary websites only work with Firefox so it’s necessary to use. It works really well and I don’t encounter a lot of errors.

    My ride or die browser

    4

Firefox are true innovators and I have rewarded them for many years for being the first to do tabbed browsing. I like so many of the features they offer: The bookamarks, the history, passwords and autofill, and the bevy of extensions you can add to tailor your browsing experience. As others have copied their innovation, most browsers feel pretty much the same. But Firefox is my ride or die.

    Pros:
Firefox was the first to use tabbed browsing which is why I began with them in 1999. Since then, their product has remained awesome and it's my favorite first browser. The bookmarks toolbar works well, as does bookmark management of saving all of my bookmarks. Now that you can log in and have functionality across any system, it's just about perfect.
    Cons:
When other, bigger entities started making tabbed browsers, I noticed that firefox functionality is sometimes difficult with some web sites. I don't believe this is a necessarily a firefox issue, but it does force me to use a secondary browser for a lot of sites.

    Reasons for switching to Firefox

Tabbed browsing was the biggest improvement for me to switch initially.

    Pros:
I especially like the fact that Firefox is a fast, security-oriented browser. By far its best feature is that on start-up, if it is set to open previous tabs, it doesn't automatically load tab contents, therefore its memory usage is well optimised. I'm yet to find any browser that does this so well.
    Cons:
I don't have many complaints, but on the latest update it seems that AI has been forced upon the user in the new side-bar. However this is a minor complaint as it seems to be easily turned off.

    Reasons for choosing Firefox

By far the most important benefit, other than Firefox Sync, was the fact that the tabs load only when needed (as explained previously). It is also available for so many operating systems, including Linux, Windows, MacOS, Android, etc.

    Reasons for switching to Firefox

It was many years ago, and I had used Firefox previously. Firefox won out as it was faster overall. I cannot guarantee this is still the case, but its well-written, optimised code was a draw.

Firefox: Why Are You Reading This Review? Stop Using Google Chrome LOL

    5

Overall, I'm quite pleased with Firefox. I like that it doesn't bog down my computer or chew threw my data. I appreciate that it allows for some customization via themes and add-ons, and that there isn't any shady data collection going on. I much prefer Firefox to other web browsers.

    Pros:
I prefer Firefox to other browsers because its a happy middle-ground of functionality and privacy. Google Chrome is fast and sleek, but it chugs through RAM and tracks everything you do. Brave doesn't track every single click and cookie, but it's a little on the slow side, and some of the sites I visit don't work on it at all. Firefox is the best of both worlds: it's fast, functional, and doesn't steal my personal information (after changing some settings). I like that Firefox offers multiple search engines by default, including DuckDuckGo. I appreciate that there are so many add-ons available, and that they are (mostly) vetted by Mozilla. I've been using Firefox for years. I expect that won't change any time soon.
    Cons:
This isn't an issue with Firefox per se, but the website I use to view my paychecks doesn't work on Firefox. I wish using Firefox was more commonplace in office settings.

    Reasons for switching to Firefox

I switched from Google Chrome because Google Chrome annihilates your RAM and tracks everything you see and search for.

I really don't have any dislikes about it. Maybe having to manually add the extension for emailing page links direct or snipping / screenshotting but other than that its great.

Firefox is much easier to use, has better features and a far lesser reputation for data exploitaton.
