About AWS Shield

AWS Shield is a vulnerability management solution that helps businesses streamline processes related to inline attack mitigation, network flow monitoring, event response, and more from within a unified platform. It allows staff members to utilize the built-in console and real-time notifications to gain visibility into correct and prior DDoS attacks.

AWS Shield's firewall manager enables team members to automatically configure policies covering multiple accounts and audit accounts to identify new and unprotected accounts. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via FAQs, documentation, email, and other online measures.

Pros:

I used this service for 2 years for DDOS protection because many times AWS Waf is not able to stop DDOS attack It also reduces the pricing of CPU utilization of instances that increase from attack

Cons:

The pricing is very high as compared to other DDOS protection tools

AWS Shield Standard using for our website to secure from DDOS attacks and protect from web vulnerabilities using web application firewall service. Its protect our website goes down due to attacks.

Cons:

Based on our usage AWS Shield help and secure our websites for specific services only. Need to secure more services in AWS using shield.
