Pretty Darn Good

Very happy a lot of your upgrades are aimed at big industry that smaller parties really do not need but no big deal for me, I just use what I need. I have the small business edition and have been using docsvault since it's been in business!

The almost unbelievable support your support team gave me when I had a program corruption due to a power surge-- can't say enough good things!

Cons:

Data search engine is good but I think can be better. I use it and DT Search program, which to me seems more robust

Best document management software on the market.

I started using Docsvault Small Business with version 5. It replaced the PaperPort, and I have more than 10 years of experience with Docsvault. An easy-to-use user interface, similar to a file explorer, allows you to scan documents directly without a third-party interface. We manage over millions of PDF files with Docvault, and PDF editing, quick response, audit trail, and easy search capabilities are key features for us. The support team is top-tier and responds quickly to resolve any software problems.

Pros:

An easy-to-use interface, similar to a file explorer, allows you to scan documents directly without a third-party interface. We manage over millions of PDF files with Docvault, and PDF editing, quick response, audit trail, and easy search capabilities are key features for us. Other features are also essential to our business, such as access and user controls, an audit trail, document version history, a built-in PDF editor, OCR, a powerful search engine, and easy central backup. The software development team actively improved the software features to ensure it meet current requirements, and the support team responds promptly to resolve issues.

Cons:

The workstation software upgrade can be rolled out via GPO; however, it cannot be automatically deployed in a workgroup setup and must be installed individually.

Reliable document control software

Overall, my experience with Docsvault has been solid. It does the core job well. It keeps documents organized, searchable, and secure. That matters more than flashy extras. Day to day work feels more controlled and less chaotic. Setup and interface issues slow things down sometimes, which gets old fast. Still, the system is reliable, and it saves time once everything is in place. I trust it with important files, which is the point.

I like how Docsvault keeps all my files organized in one place. I find documents fast with its strong search function. It tracks versions so I never lose changes. It secures files with clear permission controls. It automates routine filing and saves me time. It works reliably every day.

Cons:

I least like how Docsvault feels slow at times when opening large folders. Mobile experience feels a little clunky at times.

Docsvault feels more straightforward to set up than many alternatives. It organizes files in a way I actually understand. Search finds what I need without extra steps. Version control works without constant tweaking. Permissions and security are clear and reliable. It works well on the desktop I use most. It costs less than some enterprise systems. For daily document work it stays out of the way.

Activation Support for Older Versions Sucks

Pros:

Great organizer for personal use. I like how it creates tabs and sections and be able to edit the tags.

Cons:

I purchased years ago, version 4, for personal use and it was quite expensive for a single user. I had to reload it on a new laptop but wouldn't activate. The company says they no longer support activation of version 4, and its a way for you to buy a newer version where you pay more amount of money again. Now that I can't afford buying a newer version, I have to resort to another storage software. But the problem is, when you store documents, they are stored with a file name other than the one that you have given it. So, whatever software I decide to use for storage, I have to go through thousands of pdf documents, look at each one, and rename them to something meaningful.

Great Document Management Software!

Excellent. They made the transition from our previous DMS, Worldox, as painless as possible. The migration process was smooth. I would highly recommend a trial migration (we did one with an older dataset) to really see how the data behaves. The Docsvault built-in PDF viewer product is amazing -- more features than Adobe Acrobat. We work with PDFs quite a lot and it is great having such a full-featured tool for redactions, re-ordering pages, etc.

Pros:

The technical support is excellent - prompt, skilled and personable. They offered personalized how-to videos, in addition to calls and screen sharing to resolve questions. The customer-facing support staff is small enough to get to know their clients, yet they are backed by engineers who can address issues very quickly. I appreciate that they offer a full administrator's manual, not just links to click. Reading the full manual helped prepare me for implementation. Pricing is good, and certainly more reasonable than the alternatives I considered. It was also important to our attorneys to have an on-premise solution, and I was thankful to find Docsvault is committed to maintaining an on-premise product.

Cons:

This is my first experience with SQL File Stream, and that has taken some getting used to. I liked the Worldox "Indexer" (Database) model that ran on a desktop class machine, while the documents were stored on a file server. I had a previous, non-related bad experience with an NAS, and did not give that configuration serious consideration.

Reasons for switching to Docsvault

Worldox was purchased by Netdocuments, and was going to be discontinued in favor of a cloud-only platform.

As the system admin and CSV lead for our GMP environment, I validated Docsvault under 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP 5 and continue to use it daily. It’s reliable, intuitive, and has been a solid solution for controlled document management. The platform performs exactly as intended and has made our compliance processes smoother and more efficient.

Cons:

The only downside is the interface, which looks a little outdated, but the functionality and stability more than make up for it.

DocsVault for the Win

Excellent product. Very comprehensive in applying relevant aspects of document management. Integration with office products to avoid having to print - scan - import a amazing. I recent fell in love with the DocsVault PDF converter which was able to take 256,000 page document and handle it easily when even Microsoft Print to PDF was crashing after hours

Integrations with external existing data is absolutely priceless. Most solutions - including popular form-builders do not allow this integration which dampens the experience. Populating data to aid in the accuracy of meta data is something we cannot live without

Cons:

DocsVault Web requires Windows on IIS. IIS which is scarcely supported, slow and clunky even when configured correctly offers a poor web development experience

Docsvault has made it much easier for us to scan, store, and centralize operational and compliance records related to shipping and recycling activities. The search functionality is fast and accurate, which saves time when retrieving contracts, shipment documents, and regulatory paperwork. The setup process was quick and straightforward.

Cons:

For very small teams, the system can feel slightly feature-rich at first, but once configured, it becomes easy to manage and use.
