About Lexbe eDiscovery Platform

The Lexbe eDiscovery Platform (LEP) is a case management solution designed to help litigation lawyers and support staff streamline the entire litigation lifecycle, from organizing or reviewing legal documents to handling client records. Features include the Lexbe Uber Index (concatenated, multi-indexing of OCR extracted characters, native text, metadata and pseudo metadata for optimized document search), automatic foreign language detection and translation (100+ languages supported!), near-duplication and predictive coding.

LEP offers encrypted (256-bit) SSL connections and operates within the Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud environment.

Pricing is available on a monthly subscription basis (Lexbe Flex) or annual subscription basis (ask about volume-based discounts!) and 24/7 support is available by phone, email, ticket-system and live chat (during standard business hours). In addition, Lexbe provides FREE weekly platform training sessions and sponsors an educational eDiscovery webinar series (1-4 presentations per month) to keep clients and end users abreast of industry trends and feature developments.

We've been using Lexbe for over a decade and it has improved with technology. Productions are very easy to run and document uploads are fast and simple. Pricing is great!

Pros:

They are constantly upgrading their platform to improve their product. It is easy to use and share with co-counsel. It is ADA compliant. Their service is phenomenal!!

Cons:

They don't often warn you before an upgrade so you may be in the middle of a big project and end up have to learn how to use the upgrade. (normally they have way to go back to the prior version).

Lexbe is a great partner in e-discovery and can assist in the entire discovery process from document review, redaction, production, and privilege log.

They recently started charging for uploads/ingestion. However, this is a standard charge these days.

Firm go-to e-discovery platform.

Lexbe provides a solution to review and organize a large volume of documents, emails, reports, etc. in one central location. As a cloud-based platform, our firm is not restricted to our computers and can review case exhibits from virtually anywhere. This is particularly useful when someone is unable to be in the office but still needs to complete work. I appreciate using the briefcase exporting feature because I have a couple of attorneys who prefer not to review documents within the platform. With this feature, I can easily convert documents and deliver them more quickly than if I were to do a full production, especially when the documents are not yet ready for production.

Pros:

Lexbe is known for its professional and prompt services, making it the ideal choice for handling complex projects. The analysis tab provides different angles of a search that the attorney may have overlooked initially. Its numerous search and filtering options ensure that finding a document is nearly foolproof. Features like Co-Pilot have been invaluable for enhancing witness summaries and understanding information more effectively.

Cons:

However, the platform's lack of user-friendliness can be a drawback. This is something that I've noticed that some of our older attorneys are hesitant to use the system. Despite its many search and filter options, it can be challenging to locate a document, especially for new users who may feel overwhelmed by the multitude of choices. It would be helpful to be able to sort while in the reviewing part. I think it would be beneficial to have an easier way to save a filter where you can name it and have it saved globally through the system. For example, if there is a special search I like to use to help remove non-responsive materials, I would like to be able to use that same search in other cases. I believe it would be helpful for billing purposes to pay for the OpenAI through the Lexbe platform, especially since it is only charged whenever you use the Co-Pilot add-on. It would be great to figure out a way to charge it to that specific case. Also, I would like to know if I can be notified when things are added to a case as an administrator, so I can be more aware of when we are getting close to our monthly quota

Not your Everyday E-Discovery Platform

We enjoy the hands-on set up of the Lexbe platform. It is easy to use and navigate. The professional services team is always available and quick to respond and step in to assist when needed. There is also frequent training available.

The ease of use. The ability to upload documents, review documents, and run production sets in-house. The ability to save complex searches either on a user or case level. The ability to see the history of review of a document.

Cons:

When crafting search terms and proximity search terms other e-discovery platforms syntax for the searches may not always be compatible with Lexbe.
