      I have applied OpManager MSP specially for the management of SLA and for the real time performance. It also provides the engine for reporting the summary of the service’s uptimes and bandwidth by client on a monthly basis; this is something the clients consider important to receive.
      Cons:
      Some of the performance counters for storage devices take a longer duration to counter than in real-time during periods of maintenance. I observed that some of the disk usage values in some SANs were not completely conclusive and we had to verify them using other monitors.

      I benefited from the SNMP-based device monitoring to get details on the health of the network gear across the different clients. I can set different alerting levels to clients for monitoring their devices without causing interference with the responses.
      Cons:
      There was a small challenge when using the alert escalation module. That is, I cannot create cascaded escalations for multiple user groups per each customer, which would be handy when we have to involve both support and engineering teams.

      Based on my work experience, I consider real-time performance dashboards and customizable client views as the most helpful. OpManager MSP enables me to sort out the alerts and resources separately for each individual client. The other benefit of the fact of the automation profiles is that the repetitive fault responses are easy to tackle.
      Cons:
      There is a constraint while creating SLA reports for clients having mixed infrastructure. If a client has hybrid environments, devices are not separated accurately and I had to add filters to turn of unnecessary metrics.

      OpManager MSP has decreased the chances of having to intervene manually by achieving automation on several aspects. To manage and resolve frequently occurring problems such as service restarts or device reboots, I established workflows, which made me more efficient and timely in addressing such issues.​

      Some of the complexity automation scenarious that I saw required scripting knowledge and this was an added on top.

      I appreciated how OpManager MSP approaches clear the multi-tenant environments visibility and management. Due to the fact that it’s designed for service providers, it’s very stable. I could easily sign up new customers and start allocating their assets and commencing supervision promptly.
      Cons:
      Backlog of syslog information collected from remote devices is incomplete where there is high activity from the device. This once happened to certain firewalls during a client outage and we had to use an external syslog collector for a while.

      As for the key strengths in OpManager MSP I focused on the detailed fault management and root cause correlation. When one client site went down, the system was capable of following the alert up to its root cause, down to the failed uplink and further to affected areas.
      Cons:
      It is slightly rigid to edit a particular service template in the middle of the monitoring session. It forced me to upgrade the thresholds by restart of the poller which in turns affects the ongoing uptime monitoring of that specific client during maintenance.

      The multi-tenant system enabled me to manage many client networks in one interface. I could monitor availability of devices, their performance as well as alarms without changing context which would help address the multiple environments for clients.​

      I was able to get the basic points of real-time performance monitoring that was invaluable to the success of the project. It helped in recognizing various network problems among the clients and predetermining them to avoid interruptions and guarantee their dependable performance.

      Sometimes during periods of heightened activity receiving the alerts took a little while and in order not to miss anything important I had to check them.​

      I like how OpManager MSP is able to compartmentalize large IT environments into unique customer instances but still provide a single point of access. The asset lifecycle management and the bandwidth tracking tools have especially been effective in resource planning for the long term.
      Cons:
      In some cases the ‘live graphs’ do not update properly during high traffic periods. On the down side it slightly delayed my chances of identifying the actual time of congestion through the network whenever several clients were on the network load.
