- The specific program showcased is OpUtils’s IP Address Management module that helped solve the problem of tracking IP allocations and conflicts.
- Due to the absence of history keeping for IP assigning there is little means of assessing previous allocations and addressing arising complications or challenges. We have experienced a challenge of sometimes being unable to access some of the network switches to continue with the monitoring process.
- We've been using it for about 2 years now, and while it has some rough edges on the UI side and the costs add up, it's become an essential tool for our ops team.
- To be fair, this app was setup by my predecessor and some of the problems may have just been configuration choices he made. But the complexity of it, the number of probes was overwhelming.
