Great App for Coaches and Personal Use

          5

I’ve been using the Hevy app for almost a month now, and so far it’s been doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. The interface is clean and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate even for beginners. Assigning workouts to clients is simple and efficient, and I especially appreciate how easy it is to create and add custom exercises. As a coach, this saves me a lot of time and helps me stay organized. Overall, Hevy has been a solid tool in my coaching workflow, highly recommend it for both personal use and client management!

Responsiveness of the app. I has been clearly developed by skilled engineers that know what they are doing. Also love how quick their customer support is. I had a minor issue and [sensisitve content hidden] and one of the engineers immediately jumped on it. They know what they're doing.
          Cons:
They are still on their early days and they clearly ensure that what they release to us is of top quality (unlike other coaching apps that just add features upon features and then nothing works). That said, I wish they focused a bit more on how efficient it is to review workouts and to give feedback to clients. The experience is currently seemless but it there is room for improvements on the visibility and efficiency side of things

          Reasons for choosing Hevy Coach

Price, features, reliability. The only positive thing was customer support. Pretty sure they test things in production instead of internally before releasing. Felt like a house of cards.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

CoachCatalyst was very poorly build. Slow. A fair of unusable features.

          Pros:
I really like the Hevy app. It’s very easy to use, both for me as a coach and for my clients, which makes workout tracking simple and intuitive. I can easily follow the full history of workouts, which is extremely helpful for monitoring progress over time. Another big plus is the ability to customize exercises and add my own videos. This gives me a lot of flexibility when creating programs and allows my clients to clearly understand each exercise.
          Cons:
One improvement that would make the app even better would be the option to create custom intensity techniques. For example, being able to add and label techniques like partial repetitions (or other advanced methods) would be very useful for more advanced training programs.

          Pros:
Firstly I love Hevy Coach's interface! It is smooth, clean, intuitive, and easy to use! This is what mainly drew me to Hevy Coach in the first place. Writing client programs is also really easy due to the powerful workout builder. On computer, you get a really nice dashboard of how many clients you have, who's been active & inactive in the last 7 days, and which of your clients have completed a workout, and some other details. There is also a chat feature fully built into Hevy Coach, so you don't need another messaging platform to coach your clients.
          Cons:
When clients accept your invitation to Hevy, they are given a random username such as "canuck79" or "swift_calf30180", which is not editable by you as the coach afterwards. As a coach, this makes it extremely difficult to keep track of your clients in the app. There are currently no stretches in the Exercise Library, so if you're a coach who likes to prescribe stretches to your client, you'll have to do it elsewhere. There is also currently no method of prescribing any sort of nutrition/calories/macros to your clients, so if that is part of your service, you'll need to find a different method of doing so. The chat functionality is very, very basic at the moment. Text, emojis, photos & videos are all available. Sending hyperlinks, read receipts, emoji reacts and the ability to "reply" to specific messages are all missing at the moment.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

I didn't like the workout logging interface of Trainerize

          Cons:
The coach app could be better. I would like to be able to track clients progress there as well and I’d like notifications when they complete something.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

I wanted the option foe my clients to choose what they would work on today. Harbiz or any other app couldn’t make that happen. Hevy can.

For example if you do a 1 arm row for two sets you have to set up 4 sets and track each side and if you have superset on it sends you to the next exercise and you still have another side to do of a unilateral exercise. Maybe an idea for all unilateral exercise would be to break the set up no matter how many sets your doing into a 1L,1R…..2L, 2R ect.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

Way too hard to use. Clients and myself were getting way too pissed off with it.

It's still new, so a few features are not completely fleshed out, but I would have to be really nitpicky. It's not cheap, but if you use it professionally the cost is negligible.
