Great App for Coaches and Personal Use

          5

I’ve been using the Hevy app for almost a month now, and so far it’s been doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. The interface is clean and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate even for beginners. Assigning workouts to clients is simple and efficient, and I especially appreciate how easy it is to create and add custom exercises. As a coach, this saves me a lot of time and helps me stay organized. Overall, Hevy has been a solid tool in my coaching workflow, highly recommend it for both personal use and client management!

Hevy Coach App review from personal trainer

          5

It is a bit adjusting going from different app to this one, but overall it is very good and easy to use. Also clients report that for them it’s easier to use rather than competitor apps they have tried with other coaches.

          Pros:
I like how user-friendly it is for creating a program, tracking the progress throughout the process, putting in the weights and also rep ranges as well as giving prescribed RPE. Nice that it shows the muscle groups that are worked out the most and also shows to the client the progress throughout the weeks and gives them rewards. Also, the exercise library is pretty good, but I for sure love that it allows me to edit it and also add my own videos of the demonstration and so on.
          Cons:
For me this app little bit lacks in possibilities for client to give feedback about their workout with the videos. Client can give feedback in chat with coach, but it would be nice that for each exercise in that specific training session client would be able to add their video for technique check.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

Felt like TrueCoach lacked possibilities for better tracking progress throughout the exercises - if you didn’t put a specific exercise as a measurement to track, it didn’t track it on its own. Also it didn’t track overall workload which is important for me. So colleague of mine recommended me to try Hevy Coach because he and his clients are loving it.

          Pros:
I really like the Hevy app. It’s very easy to use, both for me as a coach and for my clients, which makes workout tracking simple and intuitive. I can easily follow the full history of workouts, which is extremely helpful for monitoring progress over time. Another big plus is the ability to customize exercises and add my own videos. This gives me a lot of flexibility when creating programs and allows my clients to clearly understand each exercise.
          Cons:
One improvement that would make the app even better would be the option to create custom intensity techniques. For example, being able to add and label techniques like partial repetitions (or other advanced methods) would be very useful for more advanced training programs.

          Room To Grow

          4

My business partner and I have had a good experience with Hevy, however, it has a lot of room to grow. I'm hopeful for its future, as it has a very solid client app side, but a lacking coaching app/browser side. There are simple features that, if added, could continue to elevate Hevy above the competition. For a small team, this app has a bright future.

          Cons:
There are lots of features lacking from Hevy that competitors have implemented already, such as: Group messaging, Nutrition integration, workout scheduling for clients, training session scheduling, and payment integration.

          Reasons for choosing Hevy Coach

Pricing and appeal of software, and ease of customization to create a team.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

Trainerize is clunky and slow, premade exercise videos are limited and vary too much. Hevy was also more in our budget.

Responsiveness of the app. I has been clearly developed by skilled engineers that know what they are doing. Also love how quick their customer support is. I had a minor issue and [sensisitve content hidden] and one of the engineers immediately jumped on it. They know what they're doing.
          Cons:
They are still on their early days and they clearly ensure that what they release to us is of top quality (unlike other coaching apps that just add features upon features and then nothing works). That said, I wish they focused a bit more on how efficient it is to review workouts and to give feedback to clients. The experience is currently seemless but it there is room for improvements on the visibility and efficiency side of things

          Reasons for choosing Hevy Coach

Price, features, reliability. The only positive thing was customer support. Pretty sure they test things in production instead of internally before releasing. Felt like a house of cards.

Reasons for switching to Hevy Coach

CoachCatalyst was very poorly build. Slow. A fair of unusable features.
