    My review of Quizlet

Excellent. Having switched to the paid option (I pay for it and not an organization) has been a positive step. It has improved my experience with Quizlet (and my pupils' experience, too)

    Pros:
Ever since I started paying for a subscription (I have Quizlet Teacher), I have made much better use of Quizlet. It helps me create content better, and, obviously, customize content created by other people. I also like the fact that I can create classes and folders easily.
    Cons:
The option can be overwhelming (there is much to get), so this is both very good and, sometimes, problematic because it makes me waste time. but tyem it I better this way.

    Pros:
I really like that students can practice using the flashcards and listening to it being read.
    Cons:
I am not impressed with the spelling feature or the gravity one. My student love the matching and enjoy beating their scores.

    Reasons for choosing Quizlet

I use it initially as student vocabulary practice. Then is use quizizz for mastery.

    Quizlet Doesn't Deliver

    3

They cater to the students/teachers who use the free Quizlet. The software is cumbersome. They develop new features but haven't bothered to upgrade the unsophisticated systems that they had. The new features offer little benefit to me. Some of the changes that have been made make if more difficult for me to maneuver back and forth between classes and students. The few things I do use don't even work as well as they did when I first subscribed. The interactive features seem much more geared to elementary students. It seems almost impossible to contact them for help. The help offered via the bot, is time consuming and not customer friendly. I understand this for everyone using it for free. I don't understand paying for a service that is values customer support so little.

    Pros:
I like that I can assign students a vocabulary set for HW and can check to see if they did the assignment.
    Cons:
The software is geared toward the free users. I teach high school, and the programs seem geared toward elementary or self study. If my students use multiple devices (phone and computers) they have to create an account for each device. It isn't user friendly for the students. The sets come up automatically for them, but they aren't in my teacher system, so their work doesn't show unless I look their account up individually. This defeats the point of Analytics. I can't go back and forth between my class and the individuals without additional clicks back and forth. The software is cumbersome. I can't easily copy and paste from one class to another, without them being linked, which prohibits me from making changes in one that I don't want in the other. I'm sure there is a way-but too time consuming to figure it out. I even tried customer support directly. NOT PARTICULARLY HELPFUL. Their is almost zero customer support and help. Talking to a bot is not my idea of support. The value for Quizlet Plus is low.

    Reasons for switching to Quizlet

I wanted to be able to track student use.

    Pros:
The ability to share and customise sets. Students can create their own or I can modify existing sets. The revision activities are engaging and the team options inspire collaboration.
    Cons:
It isn’t as aesthetically engaging as some other quiz sites for young people.

    Reasons for switching to Quizlet

Kahoot’s paywall made me revisit other platforms I had used in the past.

    Cons:
I am not a fan of how the voice sounds when you click the audio to read the text aloud. I would like for the voice to have more of a homely feel to it.

    Pros:
We have been judiciously using Quizlet in our classes and seeing benefits of it in rote learning and making vocabularies more memorable. Context is quite important in making vocabulary be there for you whenever you need so Quizlet can help you remember with vivid images and clever content. I like colloboration opportunities and user created content as well.
    Cons:
Not much but user created content may be low quality so you need to be judicious and choose the content carefully when offering your students.

For teachers, Quizlet offers an easy way to set up classes and study sets, and even facilitate learning games as a class or for individual students.

Quizlet is easy to use and versatile. I used it back when I was studying for various tests like the GRE or my Project Management certification, and I used it as a teaching resource for work as part of a data training. It was nice to be able to present questions to the class, such as to define various statistical terms, and then flip the card to display the answer.
    Cons:
More ready-made decks would be great of course!

Quizlet was built to help automate the process of having someone "quiz" you with flashcards. They've managed to emulate it fairly well as well as adding some additional study tools that can be effective for other types of learners.
    Cons:
Mainly optimized for learning new languages, which is useful but not great for non-education businesses
