    Great Value for Simple Sites

    4

Overall it's been a perfect fit for my small business to get a simple site setup. I suspect I'll outgrow it at some point and move to something like Squarespace.

    Pros:
I use Google for almost all aspects of my small business, including email, domain registration, phone (Google Voice), documents, and much more. It's very convenient that I'm able to include my website bundled with all this - both from a billing and administration perspective. The designer is simple to use and produces designs that look clean and are responsive.Publishing is as easy as clicking a button and you can work on large updates in staging before pushing them live.
    Cons:
The designer is very restrictive, meaning there is little opportunity to move outside of the provided template. I've also worked with Squarespace in the past, which provides a lot more customization and power (but is much more expensive too). There's a pretty limited set of widgets you can use (photo carousels, etc.). All the main ones are there, but I have found myself often settling for something not quite ideal. Even customizing backgrounds on the sections is oddly limited, you can really only select a background image to use.I haven't worked with a team on my small business site (just me making updates), but I used to work on a very large website for a past employer. I don't think the system would work well from a version control perspective, so do your research if you're thinking about having more than one person work on a site.

Price and integration with other Google products that I already use.

Positive - gave me access to the world of website creation from a knowledge bank of 0. Helped me establish a business and trade securely through Paypal, would recommend for hobby website creators or anyone wanting to have a play without committing to annual subscriptions.

    Pros:
Initially a free resource, with plenty of useful features to learn some of the basics of web design. I learned a lot in a short space of time by creating a basic site, ultimately embedding Paypal store items and YouTube items to create a fairly convincing site from scratch. Integration with Google analytics pretty straightforward and useful to understand usage. Ultimately, a decent starter platform capable of creating a professional website with lots of trial and error.
    Cons:
Ultimately limited by some quirky limitations on what code can be customised, certain bits of javascript not permitted for example. Must add, I used the legacy Google Sites, so improvements may well have been implemented since. E-commerce not particularly strong, so only really suitable for very small businesses if necessary.

Google Sheets offers excellent flexibility for collaborative work. Multiple team members can update data at the same time, which is helpful during fast-moving operational reviews. The cloud-based structure ensures everything stays synchronized, and its integration with other Google Workspace tools adds a lot of convenience.

A great option for the non-technical who just need basic features

    4

Overall, I am very happy with Sites and think it is a great tool for building basic web pages. While it does lack some of the features that the bigger website builders like Wix and Squarespace have, it also lacks the big price tag those services have. I think Sites is the perfect tool for building basic websites for small businesses, classes, and clubs, but would struggle to handle the needs of bigger more established businesses. For us, we primarily use Sites to build internal pages, so it meets our needs well.

    Pros:
I really love how easy it is to edit and publish pages and sites with Google Sites. Google Sites has a good variety of templates and themes to choose from and the drag-and-drop interface makes editing simple even for those who know nothing about CMSs or web development. The content blocks, Google services integrations, and simple, easy-to-use interface is what makes Google Sites shine. Also, the integration with Google Domains makes it easy to set up a custom domain for your site if you need one.
    Cons:
Google Sites is pretty capable for what it is, but lacks a lot of features that pros need to adequately customize their sites. The lack of support for things like HTML editing, scripts, and third-party integrations makes customization a challenge and hampers the ability for Google Sites to be used on a professional basis. Sites also lacks some really important features like contact forms, password-protected pages, and blog functionality.

    Reasons for choosing Google Sites

Google Sites was free and much easier to set up and start using since it already included Google service integration. Cost was a major concern for us, so we decided to go with Sites since it was free.

Anyone can design a web page

In general, my experience with Sites has been very good, it is a very easy-to-use service that anyone can use, and the creation of the website is fast and intuitive. Google integration is great, you can use a great free domain. In general, if you want to create a web page, Google Sites should be an option to consider.

    Pros:
The best thing about Google Sites is how easy it is to create web pages anyone can make one, without the need to know how to program or anything. It has the necessary tools to create a web page, which allows it to have a spotless and intuitive interface. Also, the integration with the entire Google ecosystem is excellent, especially with Google Drive. Sites is a very useful and well-thought-out program.
    Cons:
The bad thing is that it has few tools, it is a very simple program, but that harms the personalization of web pages. You need better quality templates.

Reasons for switching to Google Sites

Google sites is easier to use. Also, the security behind being part of the Google ecosystem is great.
