I Secretly Want Start a Business Doing Projects with EngineRoom

I was blown away! I had let my Six Sigma tools become rusty for a few years and I was impressed with how shiny, fresh, and dare I say fun EngineRoom is compared to where I left off with other software. My mind reeled with the potential EngineRoom could enable. I secretly harbored thoughts of starting a business just doing projects for clients using EngineRoom. There's something special happening here at MoreSteam. I hope MoreSteam becomes more "MainStream" with practitioners and students in the coming years. Good luck, guys!

Pros:

So easy to add / adjust columns of information and tweak settings. The default settings are set with discernment for what's going to work pretty darn often. The results displays look great! Logging in and getting the engine fired up is fast and easy compared to competitive product I've used. I also like the search feature for finding tools.

Cons:

I wish I could drag and drop files instead of downloading / uploading.

Reasons for switching to EngineRoom

The SigmaXL licensing was a drag, needed code keys all the time. Hassle. It also bogged down my Excel app during day-to-day use.

Pros:

It gives you statistical analysis tools, plus diagramming tools, plus simulation (Monte Carlo and DES). And pricing is very competitive.

Cons:

There are a few advanced data features for DOE or regression analysis that I understand are "in progress", but I would like to see them now available.

Training Class Use of Engine Room

Exposed to the ENGINE ROOM during Yellow Belt training. Never did figure out how to use it. Now I use MS-Excel instead.

Great Software - Very intuitive

I used MoreSteam’s EngineRoom software as part of my Lean Six Sigma learning journey, and I found it very easy to use. The ability to visually see data through charts and graphs was especially helpful in strengthening my understanding of the course material—even when working through more advanced topics like statistical analysis. The intuitive interface and clear visualizations assisted me and my classmates with a greater understanding.

Love data analysis again - get EngineRoom!

I recommend EngineRoom to anyone who needs graphical and statistical data analysis - no steep learning curve. I use MoreSteam, EngineRoom and Process Playground for Lean Six Sigma training and simulation and the people really enjoy learning.

Pros:

EngineRoom is a powerful tool for data and statistical analysis yet so easy to use. The Help Tutorials and embedded videos are like having a personal guide. The AI feature Hexie creates a great user experience.

Cons:

Although not all statistical tools are available yet, EngineRoom is adding tools and features all the time and expanding language offerings as well.

Minitab Convert - Cost Effective Alternative

I have been happy with EngineRoom, I don't need to do data analysis daily, more like 3-4 times a month so it's a cost effective alternative to Minitab and I can see that it is fairly easy to learn to use and offers more tools than I have used so far.

Engineroom provides great value for money, I grew up using Minitab which was no longer affordable for my company and so far I have been pleased with my experience with EngineRoom. As a long time Minitab user, the learning curve is likely higher than it would be for a newbie because I continue to think the way I previously worked but it has still been quite easy to learn and use for my data analysis needs. I also enjoy how it provides other Lean Six Sigma tools to make my job easier!

Cons:

There are gaps that I am still getting used to compared to Minitab. Lots of tools but not all of my favorite tools and logging in for me is a nuisance, often having to reset password. As someone who was used to using stats within a network without log in, that's been a con for me. For someone not used to a networked tool or better as tracking passwords or who uses it daily, probably not a big deal.

I am a long-time user of EngineRoom and can tell you that this product is at the top of my list of best software packages. It meets all of the requirements of a great tool. Its ease of use and detailed analysis support not only the analytical aspect of process control, but its output enables clear and powerful business discussions. It has grown over the years into the best of the best. Not only is the tool superior, but the support tops the list. The team at Moresteam is professional, well-versed, and always available to support your needs. Kudos to the team at MoreSteam.

Con's. None. It's n ot easy to find fault with this package. Its internal menus, structure, and output make it easy to use.

Great tool for those in the PI/QI world

Nice to be using a software with process improvement at the forefront! Not to mention anytime I have questions I feel like I get them more than answered with their process improvement minded support.

Currently we love using process playground as a very accessible version of simulation and are starting to transition to using engine room whenever I have statistical needs Excel doesn’t meet.

Cons:

Switching habits to use new software is just hard with all the little learning curves involved with trying to do something you’ve done before in a new space.

Game changer in the Continuous Improvement business

I started using Engineroom mostly for statistical analysis, as a replacement of another well-known and extremely expensive solution. Then started using it for most of my activities as a CI facilitator, from creating Process Maps to Simulating processes.

Packed with features and tools that I can't find in any other software package and I've been using many over the course of more than 20 years as a consultant. The ease of use. The team is constantly introducing improvements and upgrades for free...

Cons:

You need to be aware that you can only use it when you are online.

I found Engineroom easier to use and with more features available. In addition, it costs a fraction of Minitab.

Good experience easier to use than MiniTab. I have only done a few things on my own with engine room most of my experience is from the course work.

Pros:

Ease of use and multiple ways to do items. The drop down menus are very helpful and all the items or formulas you would want to use are located in one place.

Cons:

The help button should give exact instruction on how to. It would be great if when running a test or a chart and it comes out wrong if engine room could tell you that your data is wrong or you entered it wrong.
