BoardPro is a cloud-based board management platform to manage board workflows, daily enterprise functions and documentation. It caters to nonprofits and small to midsize enterprises.

Features include meeting management, agenda management, minutes management, action items, document management and more.

BoardPro’s meeting logistics feature focuses on managing events such as scheduling, creating minutes and other outstanding actions. The agenda builder helps users set agendas for meetings and assign task to presenters. They can also attach documents and other items related to meetings.

The BoardPro documents repository lets users store data in a single place. Support is available over the phone and via email.

Pros:

BoardPro makes coordination and logistics of board meetings and papers easy for board members. All info in the same place and and not mucking about with lots of different systems and software.

Cons:

As a user I have no major gripes. It works for me

Reasons for choosing BoardPro

I use both these other tools in one other board role each. I currently use BoardPro for 3 boards. Diligent is good but expensive. Also seems to require more administrator skill and expertise to set up and use well. Not a big fan of BoardTrac. Seems a bit limited in functionality - but maybe I just haven't invested enough time to understand it and its features fully. And therein lies one of the reasons I like BoardPro - because I can spend most of my time and effort in just using it rather than learning how to use it. Very intuitive.

BoardPro: One Year In and Going Strong

It is a lot of work to prepare meaningful board and committee meetings, BoardPro alerts our members in advance, and provide the opportunity for pre-meeting review of supporting documents. When in the board meeting they are able to access the meeting and documents on their laptops, and follow the discussion in real-time. It allows for deeper board engagement, their eyes are no longer glossing over from an abundance of paper packets and content.

Pros:

Ability to organize board meetings with supporting documents for each committee's report.

Cons:

Would like to be able to create a MASTER board meeting or committees' meeting, and then enter a recurring date range, or enter custom dates and have the software duplicate and repeat for the entire calendar year.

Best Practice Board Reporting at a Fraction of the Price

Pros:

As a cloud based resource Boardpro allows all our Directors and their respective support teams to access board papers and make comments/mark-ups effortlessly without printing 100's of pages needlessly. It's standardized best practice design helps drive better governance.

Cons:

In early days there were several feature lacking - the BoardPro team has listened and now gotten well ahead of what we think is missing to actually providing new features we love but would never have thought of asking for.

Pros:

It is efficient and ensure all members to a meeting are informed on changes in the agenda and the meeting pack by a simple click of the publish button.

Cons:

There is nothing that I don't like. The platform is great. Maybe you can add a video conferencing software like MS Teams to be able to join remotely or record a meeting.

Cons:

That the interest register isn’t linked between committees and sub committees

Reasons for choosing BoardPro

Cost -onboard was another product that was a cost per user. And we have over 200 users so the cost difference between BoardPro and OnBoard was huge.

Reasons for switching to BoardPro

Cost, we have a large number of users and the cost per user for Stellar vs the Cost per Board for BoardPro made a huge difference. Secondly, the functionality was really good.

Very good product but would love to see it improve

Overall, the experience has been positive. The ease of setup and the user-friendly nature make it a good product. However, I would like to see some enhancements, such as the ability to write and change reports attached to agendas without having to reload them.

Ease of use, clean dashboard, offers of mini training sessions, ease of customer service

Cons:

The inability to amend Word documents, like in Sharepoint, and having to reload changed versions. This is something Harbour Software, with their DocAssembler product, offers. Also, I would like to use it more widely, but the cost of each separate committee is prohibitive for a not-for-profit.

BoardPro is the best current offering on the market

Straight-forward. A far more user-friendly product than other platforms that we've used previously. The layout is cleaner and functional.

Its a very user-friendly platform, that has all the features we need.

Cons:

Not much to be fair, it's a very good platform. The only thing I'd like to see is 'flying minutes' be automatically populated into the Board pack to be approved as they are with the previous meeting's minutes.

Pros:

It is very easy to use and makes the admin part of board hui very easy. Love the reduction in manual formatting mahi when doing manual board packs. Also the auto reminders and reduction in emails required to follow up as it is automated.

Cons:

One thing that comes to mind is the inability to take minutes inside the action point section. We quite often spend a bit of time discussing actions and I have to go in and out to find a place to make those notes i.e. general business.

BoardPro best for our nonprofit org

Excellent product! I compared to others and by far the best one for my board management. I’m secretary of the board and it makes my life so much easier (and board members love it)

Pros:

The cloud capabilities to work on agendas and minutes from any device at any time. Also the ease of scheduling next meetings and connecting to each other

Cons:

Cloning agendas is a great feature but would be nice if I could see the status and notes of cloned items so I don’t have to open another screen to compare prior results. Also it’s frustrating I cannot switch an agenda item from discussion-type to voting-type. (It forces me to open a vote-type and copy paste the content)
