It really makes setting up backups simple

SimpleBackups means I do not have to worry about the backups. If something goes wrong, or there is an anomaly in a backup I am notified. Every week I get an update on recent backups and reassures me that all is well

Pros:

Very simple to setup and use. It does the job it says will do, make backups simple. It also easily guides us in restoration processes for data verification or in case of data issues

Cons:

Only issue I had, was probably not seeing certain configured backups. This was mostly our fault as it was not assigned to a team, and at the time I was not the owner of the team. Maybe how the teams work can be improved, especially for a web agency like us with a small team and multiple projects

Good value for money

Scheduled backups is the most important things for us and this is well provided in simpleBackups.

Simplicity in use and in presentation.Gui shows the neccessarry things. Backup database in scheduled way

Cons:

As things were programmed to API of online provider youre not total free to cusomize the backups the way you want

Great team and support, great value proposition for our use case. For a developer everything is clear and professionally arranged

Cons:

There was an uncovered pricing case that the team handled well. Currently, they track database size based on the selected plan. In my opinion, it would be better to track the actual backup volume used instead.

Simple Setup for DigitalOcean Managed Databases

I've experienced great support - they respond quickly to my questions and follow up when more info is requested.

Simple setup - works great with DigitalOcean Managed Databases with only a single login for all our databases - auto-configuration means you're more likely to set up a backup.

Cons:

Unable to selectively purge backups other than one at a time. Github backups doubled in size unexpected with format change - seems to be resolved now

Notion Backup

We use SimpleBackups to back up an ever growing Notion Space for our company. It was easy to set up and schedule a daily backup. We have tried other Notion backup providers, but SimpleBackups was the first one that really managed to backup our Notion installation.

When the size of our Notion Space resulted in timeouts of the backup job and fluctuating sizes, the SimpleBackups team kept following up on the issue and delivered a solution, all the time making sure we were in the loop.

Cons:

I have no complaints about the experience. All interactions have always been positive and the only issue we ran into was resolved in good time.

Nice overview of all our backup jobs

Lots of different plug&play connectors and a great knowledgable customer service.

We can basically backup data from any cloud based service that we use and have them placed securely with storage providers of our own choise.

Cons:

As a fairly new product on the market there have been some adjustments that at times have interferred with our backup-jobs. However this is expectable and their support is excellent and they quickly resolve any problem when they occur.

Reasons for choosing SimpleBackups

I couldn't really find a good alternative.

It's a reliable service and relatively easy to use. It works well with UpCloud.

Cons:

If there's something to be mentioned, it would be that the number of backup jobs could be a bit larger by default. However, that is not a dealbreaker for using this service.
