Powerful EDC tool with simple and user friendly interface

So far Viedoc is serving very well. It has become a very unique and useful tool.

Pros:

Viedoc is doing very well in terms of customer support. It has made EDC a lot more time saving. Great tool for handling large research or clinical projects where data entry is a crucial part. Video tutorials are also available wich is very helpful.

Cons:

Only thing that can be added is offline usability. It would be great in case of any internet failure. Otherwise it is great.

You can program eCRF by yourself if needed and in a short time.

Cons:

As new features have been added into the system it is getting slower. For example, refreshing Viedoc Reports in Viedoc Admin, sites administration, in Designer printing the study documentation like annotated CRFs, workflows. Especially, when we have 'big' studies, and popular time points on a day when 'everybody' is working with Viedoc.

The drag and drop tool, it's handy and fun to use.

Cons:

The Design versionning tool. It requires a lot of time if we have to update the EDC with serveral design versions when data are already recorded. There is no alert/notification when a query is answered or closed by sites or another user different from the one who open the query. Sites can unlocked pages which are already monitored and locked, and modify the data without any notifications such is not normal. Not possible to custom visibility condition on common event (if forinstance the instance constate is not signed). Visibility condition is possible between pages in the same visit but not between page from different visits.

Thanks for your feedback Yatma! Would recommend you reach out to our technical support team as some of your observations are things that are in fact supported by default in Viedoc. E.g. sites are definitely not able to change any data that was locked. That would be really bad system design so I am not sure where that observation comes from? Some of the visibility conditions you describe also seem straight forward, so again I recommend reaching out to our tech team. Your suggestion of adding alerts when a query is resolved is interesting. Not always, but on a case by case basis. This would mean that a user while adding a query, apart from being able to define which roles that are allowed to handle the query once resolved (functionality part of the upcoming role based query package) also could choose to decide if he/she would like to be alerted once the query is resolved. Viedoc - An easy to learn and use EDC

We design data collection forms, features and database for clinical trial sponsors. Viedoc has gained increasing popularity among sponsors and we're receiving lots of projects. One should definitely check this out if they are looking for a tool in the EDC market.

Review from the one who inspires Viedoc

I have always admired viedoc. All the features are very useful for any clinical trial. Lot of features from Viedoc 3 such as monitoring reports, sae reporting are lacking in viedoc 4. I also wonder why it is not famous with all the sponsors and Pharma companies inspite of being so capable of handling complex clinical trials.

Economic, All the features are available (Unblinded randomization, Data import, ePRO, Alerts, RTSM, logistics), Easy for all the users such as study setup, conduct and analysis.

Cons:

1. No SAE reporting available2. No offline data entry available3. No batch marking available for review activities4. Monitoring report questionnaires are not available5. Protocol deviations flagging not available, and export for the same is not available6. Custom SDV is not available for example 100% for few and targeted for few7. SAS data set

Well-designed and user-friendly eCRF

Overall, Viedoc is a very well-design and user-friendly eCRF that fulfills most of our needs as a CRO. Whenever we are facing an issue, the Viedoc support is always very helpful, which is very much appreciated by our team.

I find Viedoc very user-friendly. I experience that once the site users are trained, the questions we reecieve from them are limited. The eLearning is very detailed and includes a lot of pictures making it easy to follow. The step-for-step guidelines in the eLearning can easily by shared with the sites that are facing troubles with data entry. The ViedocMe application is a great addition to the eCRF Clinic allowing the subject to fill in electronic questionnaires. From a designer perspective, I think it is quick to set up a study and possible to design the eCRF to fill your study specific needs. It is easy to configure the data checks to limit data entry errors and I think it is very helpful to be able to configure visibility of forms and visits, so that not everything is visible at once. The Viedoc Reports function is appreciated. It is comprehensive and makes it easy to review data.

Cons:

It would sometimes be more convenient if we could edit the settings for user roles without having to do a new design. If the roles configuration were moved to Global Settings, it is easier to do quick updates. The thing that it is not possible to link Concomitant Medications to Medical History and/or Adverse Event is a big downside. This is one of the features that I have missed the most. But it is my understanding that this feature will come in the next release. From a study manager/Data manager perspective, it can be difficult to troubleshoot ViedocMe issues. It may seem straight forward but we do face that Investigators don't know how to check if the email or phone number has been set up correctly or whether the Reminders have been enabled. It would also be nice, if the email/phone reminders for ViedocMe users could be edited (text and frequency) without updating the design. In many studies, we experience low compliance with the ViedocMe forms. An eLearning within the application has been requested by several customers.

You are correct that the possibility to link CMs with AEs, SAEs with AEs (or any other relevant linking) will be possible with the upcoming release. The entire Viedoc community is probably waiting for this feature and it will be a great addition to the data collection and cleaning process. Improved support for trouble shooting if email and/or text messages have been sent is also an upcoming feature. I want you to be able to lock forms all at once. I would like to be able to check the approval status of EDC revisions all at once.

Also, although a view of approval status of revisions could be of some value, which we definitely will consider, when it comes to have full control over all revisions at once, please check the issue listing in Clinic, or do an export of the query data, and then filter by type "pending form upgrade". This will give you a list of all forms that are still not upgraded to the latest revision. Please remember that just because someone from the site has approved an upgrade doesn't mean all forms are in fact upgraded (as some forms can be locked etc). I'm missing "Back to Top" button if you are very far down on a form as a designer.I also would like the box with the items to follow me as i scroll down on the form, now if i want to add an item far down on a form, i have to scroll all the way up, and hold lef t mouse and drag it all the way down.

Overall ease of design, implementation and usability through all elements of a study. The design, UAT and start up processes allow us to get to study start faster and with less cost than other systems. The system's intuitive and attractive interface makes it easy for users to come up to speed in a short amount of time. On the backend, the available data management tools are helpful during the study and quite sound for managing final study data.

Cons:

The need to jump in and out of the AE, Conmed and Med History pages to find sequence numbers for related items is inconvenient. Also, the lack of autopopulation for Conmeds from the WHO Drug dictionary is also inconvenient, although I understand that may not be an issue in PCG's control.

Amazing eCRF system

Using Viedoc, eCRF can be built quickly because of the flexibility of the design mode. The designer can set up forms in parallel with the definition of edit checks performed by the programmer; in addition, it is very easy to set up the eCRF by personnel with minimal programming knowledge. Thanks to e-learnings, available for all activities and detailed with pictures and videos, navigating the system is very easy as is the use of all the necessary features.
