The best thing about Kreo is the AI assisted take off. I find auto measure can be a little messy and i spend as much time organizing the data as i would have doing a normal takeoff

Cons:

Confusing left hand panel where is shows products.

Kreo helps me estimate for appraisal purposes

[sensitive content hidden] provided excellent pre-sales/demo support, teaching me how to use the product so that my paid subscription period started with maximum effectiveness. Implementation in my context was as simple as having a new SaaS website to bookmark.

Pros:

As a Real Estate Appraiser whose work focuses on Insurance Valuation & Reserve Fund Studies, every week I need to measure building plans (often of fairly poor quality) to ascertain key dimensions for my cost modelling. I've tried a variety of glorified PDF editors, including offerings from top names before I discovered Kreo. Kreo's shape recognition algorithms speed my process by identifying areas and measuring them for me. Specifically, the bucket-fill measurement tool continues to get better and better, and relieves me from a bunch of fine-point clicking to trace the perimeter of convoluted shapes (especially helpful for shaky hands). Kreo then provides outputs in Excel that I can directly plug-in to my models. I use it now for every job.

Cons:

Kreo works best with vector drawings and modern building floorplans. Most of my work involves scans of registered condominium plans into the Land Records database. Consequently, it's difficult to get the most out of the "automagical" features. That said, the bucket-fill measurement tool keeps getting better and addresses most of my needs.

Reasons for choosing Kreo Software

Most of the 2D Takeoff solutions I tried consisted of glorified PDF editors and required me to do all of the precise pointing-and-clicking to establish distances, areas, and perimeters and in exchange offered some sort of Excel output. Kreo's pattern recognition automation relieves me of tedious point-and-click while providing useful output to Excel.

PDF editing tools don't currently provide automation features that Kreo delivers.

Trending in the right direction

Overall I believe Kreo stands out and is definitely trending in the right direction for the future of take offs. There is of course room for improvement and this is achievable when there are more users and Kreo has more feedback. Which currently appears like Kreo is taking our input and is willing to (and have) implement changes.

The AI features such as auto take off and the bucket fill function. Greatly reduces time spent on take off.

Cons:

Multiple line items (conditions) for the same take off. I wish Kreo had the feature like OST where if you define a linear condition as wood base, it would calculate all wood base under 1 line item. With Kreo, each time you start and stop, a new condition is created.

Reasons for switching to Kreo Software

Autodesk take off is nowhere close to be calling user friendly. Bluebeam is a good option but Kreo's AI capabilities discourage using Bluebeam. OST - OST is perfect the way it is, but it also appears OST hasn't been updated in years. In addition, OST does not offer cloud function.

Quick and easy to use

overall kreo has been q uick and easy to use the software is great, the cut out tool and easy fast measurement tools available making takeoffs extremely easy and making my job a lot easier, this means i can send my jobs in in a much quicker time and complete more jobs in a short period of time.

Cons:

the fact kreo is cloud based makes it difficult during days in which the wifi may be down or in which we may have any issues with technology although the actual working software is great.

Pros:

Cloud based and the efficiency it help us with compared to doing the same work with print off pen and pape.

Cons:

One quick crash but the issue was fixed quick and I received an email from their support team with out even inquiring to make sure that the issue was resolved with no problems. very good customer service.
