About DbVisualizer

DbVisualizer is a database management solution that helps businesses monitor and analyze the performance of multiple databases through various operating systems including Windows, macOS and Linux. The platform lets employees configure settings to connect the platform with several databases via a unified portal.

It allows IT teams to manage key bindings through pre-defined keymaps and access high-resolution images with high dots per inch (HiDPI) displays. It provides a host of features such as connection management, analytics and more. Additionally, DbVisualizer enables employees to rename, pin and rearrange layout tabs using a drag-and-drop interface.

DbVisualizer facilitates integration with several third-party database systems and JDBC drivers such as Derby, Exasol, H2, Greenplum, MariaDB, NuoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle and more. The application is available on a perpetual license basis and support is extended via phone, email and other online measures.

Pros:
I often must navigate in the database's data, and that's where DbVisualizer shines.
Cons:
The code completion is not as good as with DataGrip

Reasons for switching to DbVisualizer

DataGrip is also a great product, but it has no data navigation.

One Tool for all days long

DbVisualizer works in OSX AND Windows (I do not like this system) and with oracle and Postgres. This is my daily work and DbVisualizer is my daily tool.

Pros:
Working with a lot of databases. Starts quick and the interface is selbstbeschreibend. It's easy to use because it's intuitive and there are always small improvements that help me.
Cons:
There is no implementation for special things, such as copying tables to Postgres. Also things like Oracle Tuning Advisor or PgAnalysis are not to be found or not implemented.

DbVisualizer Streamlines Data Gathering Needs into 1 Application

5

DbVisualizer streamlines my query needs by making it a one-stop shop. I have MongoDB, T-SQL, Oracle, etc. connections setup so I can access our everything from one simple query tool.

Pros:
I like how I can connect to multiple database types from one application. I also like being able to quickly view the data without having to write or wait for a default query to run. The export to CSV is so much faster and easier than your standard SSMS.
Cons:
I wish the shortcut keys were easier to use and similar to SSMS. I catch myself hitting F5 instead of Shift + Enter a lot. It would be nice to also have a right click view top ### rows as well.

Pros:
One of the best options with DbV is the Query Builder. Being able to build queries through this tool helped me to visualize and understand syntax, table joins, and many other features. I was a beginner when I started but now I am not only able to write queries with out the query builder, I also have a better understanding of how to use a db to maximize the data analysis. This is one tool that I open first thing in the morning and use it all day.
Cons:
Everything is really solid but offering more built-in connectors would be nice.

Pros:
What I appreciate most about DbVisualizer is its user-friendly interface coupled with powerful features that cater to both novice and advanced users.
Cons:
Unlike some modern database tools, DbVisualizer doesn’t have built-in collaboration features. For teams working on the same database or queries, collaboration typically has to be managed outside of the tool. While DbVisualizer generally performs well, it can become sluggish when working with extremely large databases or datasets.
