    Relatively complex to use but good tool

    We have shifted 3 months ago and will replace another market intelligence tool by Orbit as well and see how everything works in an integrated way. Experience so far is positive

    Once you have familiarized with the tool it facilitates the process in our case of patent research and management. A portfolio of tools from same provider can create a full innovation management landscape
    Cons:
    Not really easy to start, some not very logic steps to operate. Sometimes still a bit complicated to go back and forth in the menu. You need to use it regularly to maintain your skills in using it properly.

    the possibility to quickly move from searching to analysing, the personalization features and the flexibility in the use of family or single documents
    Cons:
    I think the differences among workfiles and lists are not easy to understand and it takes a little way to master (especially when you create a list in fampat and then you move in fullpat and viceversa...) . The different number formats between the design and the patent module should be harmonized. The ability to search for legal status also in the design module should be implemented.

    Mostly using this software for patent searches related to patentability, invalidity and FTP. Also for patent analytics. I found this software good for patent data export especially restriction publication to first/earliest publication or priority. This is useful for quarterly reports where we want to avoid reprorting family publications or already reported patent.

    Ease of use, user friendly, great patent coverage, highlighting options, grate analytics options, good search options and user friendly data output.
    Cons:
    Limited export options for patent numbers beyond 1000, need to send on email. Also many times, software is very slow and we need to wait for results to upload on the page.

    Data quality, analysis power and flexibility, specialized technical support, and reliability are really strong points
    Cons:
    Chemical and biosequence search tools are great could be integrated at a little lower addditional costs, but even those tools are less expensive at Orbit than competition.
