About ThingSpeak

ThingSpeak is an Internet of Things (IoT) analytics platform, which helps businesses gather, analyze and visualize live data. Organizations can capture and store information about air pressure, temperature, humidity and other metrics through sensors in automobiles, industrial equipment and home devices.

ThingSpeak offers analytics tools, which let users evaluate data to discover trends, relationships and patterns across multiple data sets and display the information via charts, gauges and plots. Administrators can add, modify or remove private/public channels and set up custom fields to collect and evaluate data from multiple sources. Additionally, administrators can schedule running of codes, reading or writing of data, web server connectivity, tweets, and other recurring tasks on an hourly, daily or weekly basis.

ThingSpeak facilitates integration with various third-party applications including LoRaWAN, Arduino, MATLAB, Senet and more. It is available for free and on annual subscriptions. Support is provided via FAQs and other online measures.

Pros:

Any product from MathWorks deserves respect and this app is a great addition to the software that is already installed on your computer. This app helps to work on the same code on the desktop/ laptop, while on the go. It provides wonderful flexibility for assessing and modifying the code , while not being in front of the computer.

Cons:

This tool is not a replacement to your product on your computer. I still feel the main functionality lies on working on the computer; however, this tools helps in supporting the task.

The low budget projects can be made using this platform given that free tier gives you 4 channels with full functionalities so you can know all the possibilities that the services can provide, also the easy way to connect other 3rd party software and program hardware to communicate to the platform results very handy.

Cons:

Maybe the way that more unique way to display analytics are only useful if you know to program on MATLAB code.
