About Drillster

Drillster is a smart microlearning app that keeps critical knowledge and competencies top of mind, so employees can deliver top performance, using the right skills at the right time.

Drillster was founded in 2011 by Thomas Goossens and Marco van Sterkenburg when they became frustrated with how short the effect of traditional learning programs was, while so many employees and students worldwide rely on it. The forgetting curve prevents people from having the right competencies at the right time. Marco and Thomas figured that the world would be better if people could perform better by anchoring and retaining knowledge and skills. Keeping these top-of-mind results in higher study results, fewer incidents and accidents, higher productivity, lower costs, and consequently satisfied employees, students, and customers.

A proprietary algorithm drives personalized learning. The Drillster app even calculates future proficiency and notifies the learner just before crucial knowledge tends to decline. Short learning chunks make it easier to learn at regular intervals. This is more effective and engaging and makes it very suitable for mobile learning. - Adaptive learning: the smart algorithm adjusts the order, frequency, and pace of exercises based on the individual forgetting curve. Topics that people find difficult are automatically repeated more often than the ones they already know well. This guarantees a tailored, efficient, continuous learning process on an individual and micro level. - Spaced repetition: the algorithm calculates when knowledge declines for each person and notifies them in time to brush up on their knowledge. The app then applies increasing intervals between repetition of exercise (variants). Cons:

The api can be improved to be able to not encounter some issues and have to do some retries (change the pagination system or create new endpoint)

Je suis très content de mon utilisation de Drillster. L'import en masse d'utilisateurs nous facilite grandement la vie et nos apprenants ne nous rapporte aucun soucis technique. Tout est fluide de leur côté et leur formation se déroule bien.

Cons:

Nous aimerions pouvoir héberger plus de contenus dans nos formations comme des quizz interactifs, de plus grosses vidéos,... afin de rendre toujours plus ludique l'apprentissage de nos candidats.

Drillster fonctionne grâce à un algorithme extrêmement fin et puissant qui permet d'affiner le logiciel de manière impressionnante et adaptée aux besoins des utilisateurs. Il est adaptable à souhait, ce qui le rend très efficace et impactant !

Cons:

Dans le cadre éducatif, il n'y a pas encore d'intégration facile au LMS Moodle.

Bit confusing menu when admin users, I always have to remember to go to the groups before being able to manage my users

Drillster review from the perspective of a delivery agent

Drillsters is my first experience with such a learning app and I remember being blown away by it the first time I was shown a training. I actually think it's underutilized. It takes a lot of time and effort to make a worthwhile training, but once you have it up and running you start asking yourself why you haven't done it sooner.
