Keep an Eye on Everything

There were issues of users not using their computers responsibly, but since they know they are being monitored, there is rarely to no misuse of technology.

Pros:

This software is very easy to use has 4 or 5 fantastic features you want to keep tabs on 40 + computers. Its best feature is to guess which users are using unapproved websites and override or message the computer.

Cons:

The two complaints I have are first, it can falsely flag users on websites that are okay to use and it will continue to flag these websites until they are white listed. Second depending on the monitoring being used, this software can use a lot of bandwidth.

One of the most Powerful tools we provided our teachers

It was a great experience, and it steadily improved while using the product as new features were added and I felt like teachers were being listened too and what was needed was being added

I like it’s ease of use and deployment and the ease to demonstrate to our staff on it’s setup and use in the classroom, the ability for them to set and forget really helped.

Cons:

Early on we had a few issues with the blocking of items by teachers where we had to unblock many helper sights and other pages to allow students to be able to sign in and then use certain online items

Reasons for choosing Lightspeed Classroom Management

It was less gamified so it didn’t suck our teachers in and allowed teachers to set and forget without them really wanting to just sit at their desk and monitor the students but feel that they had the freedom to move around the room and know students were being passively monitored.

Solid Classroom Management

Very positive experience; especially post-COVID, we have noticed students struggling more to stay focused and keep their searches relevant to the work at hand, and Lightspeed has helped us monitor and redirect that trend.

Pros:

Easy ability to monitor what all students are doing on their devices while also quickly focusing on what a particular student is doing. In combination with Lightspeed's filter software, our students generally do not access inappropriate content in school.

Cons:

Slight delays between when a class is marked as "over" and when the classroom monitoring is turned off for a particular group of students occasionally causes problems and lack of continuity. While some of this can be addressed by helping classroom teachers understand how to use the software correctly, the developers could improve the product my making it easier for teachers to navigate quick transitions between classes.

Amazing Application for Teachers!

My overall experience with Lightspeed Classroom Management has been great. Before our school had this program, I would have to spend important quality time monitoring students when on their devices. Now I can easily see each student's screen on my device and use that extra time to teach and help students with assignments. I always thought something like this would be amazing for teachers to have. I didn't know it was even an option until our district informed us of Lightspeed Classroom Management. I promise that you will love this program.

Where do I even begin? This is exactly the program teachers have been begging for ever since students were assigned computers. It is so difficult to walk around and monitor students when they are online. Even when you do this, they can quickly close what they had up. This program has made monitoring students' online activity at school a breeze. Informing students we can view their screens remotely while in class has helped curb the problem of students being off task. No longer can they have a video game pulled up on a tab while working on an assignment. I like that Lightspeed Classroom Management gives teachers the ability to close applications on individual student screens while also allowing us to send them a message. It's very easy to implement this program in any school district. If your school does not have Lightspeed Classroom Management, I would recommend you speak with administration about implementing this amazing program. You will thank me later.

Cons:

Lightspeed Classroom Management takes a while to load student screens on your computer. The program is great but sometimes it will take some time for you to click on a student's screen and view what they are doing. I would blame this on internet speed but our school network is very fast.

Amazing Monitoring Software

My overall experience has been very positive. I no longer have to worry about students being off task when working online. Being able to close programs or websites a student is on remotely has made my job much easier. If your school district does not have this program, you need to request it.

I love using Lightspeed Classroom Management. I like that I can see exactly what my students are doing on their laptops during class time. Our school district gave each student a laptop at the beginning of the year. I always had trouble with students not being on task when doing online assignments. Lightspeed Classroom Management allows me to monitor students when online. I like the ability to close out websites they may be on and being able to send them a direct message to get back on task. Just informing students you can monitor their screens during class time has helped tremendously.

Cons:

One con is the website takes a while to load after signing on. I am not sure if it's the software or not but the site is difficult to navigate when you have multiple classes you teach throughout the day. If I want to view my first block of students, I have to filter through all my other classes to find them. Again this may be the fault of our school district.

Lightspeed Classroom review

Lightspeed is an incredible product and I can't recommend it enough. This is by far the best solution I have used that gives teachers access to see what their students are doing on their devices.

Pros:

Not only are the features better than all other systems that we tested, but the implementation was so simple. We implemented LS Classroom for Chromebooks, iOS, Windows, and macOS and it couldn't have been easier.

Cons:

It's not easy to give just Lightspeed admin rights to certain users. They technically have LS admin rights, but they didn't do what we needed and had to temporarily grant global admin rights. Other than that though I have no complaints.

Pros:

Classroom is great software virtual class room session. Being an Instructor it is a helpful tool to delivered lectures while sitting in your couch. My students loves that and they are even more at tentative then onsite lectures.

Cons:

when you have more students then some time is get freeze due to different internal speed or their device operating system.

I am impressed with this monitoring tool, which has decreased my my frustration with students wondering off to other sites and wasting time not focused on the lesson.

I like that I can monitor my students computer activities, record, and use as evidence. Students know they are being monitored, so they are more engaged and on task.

Cons:

I wish there was a lock feature that only allowed students to view my lesson.

With Relay Classroom teachers have the ability to monitor student internet use during class. They can send students to specific websites all at the same time. Teachers also have the ability to lock student screens when they need to give direct instruction.

Cons:

Sometimes the lock feature gets stuck and students are unable to access their devices when they have moved to a different class.
