About Bitly

Bitly is a URL shortener software designed to help businesses of all sizes create and share personalized links for digital marketing campaigns. The platform enables administrators to encrypt URLs with hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS) and protect them against third-party breaches.

Managers can gain insights into link metrics such as click-through rates, most referred channels and geographical data on a unified interface. Pros:
It is a very good and safe platform for shortening the links. I can shorten, share and manage any links using Bitly effortlessly. It also offers features like customisation of links. It has eased my work alot by removing the unnecessary symbols and letters from the links.
Cons:
There is some difficulty while contacting the customer support team. Moreover, they respond very slowly which was very challenging issue for me. They took many days to resolve my problem.

It is simple and timesaving, user friendly, with excellent tracking capability. You can get well driven data analysis to evaluation performance on all your link
Cons:
The only thing is the custom domain is not in the free plan.

Reasons for switching to Bitly

Bitly is the best url shortly shortening service even with free account

I used to use another url shortening service, but then I found Bitly and registered my account there. One day I faced some technical issues with the previous service and I decided to try Bitly. And trust me, I was amazed to find it very user friendly. Bitly has become more user friendly and powerful if we compare it from the past 2 years when I started using it. I'm 100% satisfied with Bitly, thanks to Bitly team for providing such a brilliant service. :)

I love Bitly because it's providing very useful tools like integrating UTM link features, official WordPress plugin and link tracking features even on Free accounts. :)
Cons:
The least that I like about Bitly is that I cannot use my custom domain with free account :(

Shorten URLs With Bitly, Quickly!

I think I am going to stick to the free plan for future use. It is still viable to use their service but since it's just for part-time affiliate marketing, that Basic paid plan seems like a bit of an overkill for me now.

On the Bitly dashboard, I can not only monitor the links I've created, but I can actually see how many times a link has been clicked as well as who may have referred my link to get clicks which is great if you're into gathering stats like that.
Cons:
From doing in depth research, it seems as though I am better off buying my own domain for the price I am paying on their Basic plan. I could set up Google Analytics to gain all those reports they give me and still walk away with a bit of a saving to be quite honest. So maybe the subscription fee shouldn't be too high.

Reasons for choosing Bitly

Bitly in my opinion is the original URL shrinker so I thought it would be best to test their service out first.

If you are in the business of studying links either as an amateur or for a living, Bitly can be your go to tool!

Pros:
One of the easiest app recommendations I can make. If your website has abnormally long links or you need to have good analytics on your links there is no better tool in my opinion. I used Bitly extensively for academic work and it was an indispensable tool to report to my board about the performance of the academic posts I was putting up. Link performance based on time and geographical locations allowed me to fine tune the posts that were being published. The easy integration with Buffer also allowed me to publish and shorten links at the same time.
Cons:
This is one app I cannot say had a weak spot for me.

Fantastic tool for making short pretty URLs

I have used Bitly for many years and I am a premium user of the service. I often use it to make links more easy to save, remember, type in or relay to my clients. I really like the ability to customise the end part of the link so that I can make links easy to remember and relay to clients.

I like how functional Bitly is in terms of being able to easily create short URLs and also to customise the end part of the URL to make it easy to type in or relay to someone else.
Cons:
I sometimes find it is slightly too complicated to create short URLs. Even though it only takes 10-15 seconds I wish they made the dashboard even more intuitive so links could be created in a shorter amount of time.
