Good Quality management system but must improve further

Good but there is room for improvement in areas other than DOcs, training and quality events

Constant support, continuous Improvment, a few kinks to work out

So far, it's been good. There are some areas that are extremely painful to work through but it's comforting to know that mastercontrol is aware and that there is constantly a plan to continue improving the products. The support that we have received (including summit) to me is invaluable.

Pros:

I like the connectivity of the modules and that mastercontrol is constantly improving. The different options and features are consistently offering more value, if you're ready to invest in your company.

Cons:

The different modules work slightly different depending on who developed them. Sometimes the most basic of functionality is not considered when making a product and then it can take quite a while to get that fix developed and released. Example, customization of task list, adding a star to favorite your documents from the document list instead of the infocard, not having a prefiltered supplier list, or even favoriting the most recent version of the document and making that a dynamic link not static with the version favorited.

Qx is beginning to revolutionize our QMS

Pros:

Document control, change control, and review workflows are among the biggest challenges facing our organization. MasterControl provides the means to apply industry best-practices, and excellent control and compliance, with intuitive, out-of-the box solutions. MasterControl Qx also integrates with MasterControl's Mx (Manufacturing Execution) system, a critical reason we chose it.

Cons:

Onboarding has been challenging. This is not a flaw in MasterControl, but rather a feature: Connections, workflows, training, responsibilities, review cycles ... all have to be specified in detail. We didn't necessarily have all the information arranged in such a way as to make its entry into MasterControl 'easy'. However, once put together, the MasterControl system is far superior to its antecedent.

Integration with Mx was a huge factor. We want fewer integration requirements. Also, MasterControl really understands businesses like ours.

Some Modules Work Better Than Others

I do like that the modules work together or can be linked for easy traceability. Document module works well and consistently with no or few errors.

Pros:

I love the idea of the system. The document module works great! Building workflows in Docs and AQEM is very easy and flexible.

Cons:

There are inconsistencies. The workflows are great but there are some bugs/defects in AQEM that need resolved. Insights needs to be simplified for use. Training is fine but there is room for improvement.

Cost of implementation and annual cost was much lower for the multiple modules we required.

Our company was acquired and quality systems had to be reimplemented. MC offered a better option for multiple modules for the cost.

After 13 years of working with MasterControl, I like the ability MasterControl rolls everything up together.

I really like how document revisions trigger training courses. Also the ease of keeping track of collaboration steps.

Cons:

That aQMS is not available on the FedRamp server. FBS forms require too much customization by services to make using them a very pricey item.

Integrated total solution for QMS, been with them for 14+ years and seen lots of growth and change. 😀

Cons:

Slow to grow and mature but they do have a road map that they constant make us aware of. Need to continue to innovate.

It’s been good .. again the support is great … we did not consider enough iPads vs tablets vs laptops and they should be highlighted more when implementing

In many ways it’s not a true enterprise solution .. extra steps to segregate op cos and some modules you can’t

Qx Review Bruker

Very nice, we use Qx, Mx, and aqem. User acceptance has been high. There were some training issues in the beginning but now most users are quite good at using the tool and finding the information they need.

Document vaulting allows multiple sites to use the tool but not see eachothers trainnees, infocards, etc

Cons:

Finding or extracting reports. Insights doesnt have all the available j reports but j reports is clunky

Implementation was rough, but post live has been going great. Only improvement right now if functionality of the system. Could use more automation.

Having one platform for several different systems. Being able to trust the validation of the systems.

Cons:

The Implementation process was challenging. Still having to follow up and correct import errors. Working with MC support.

Qx - A Usable Event Management Module

We use the module heavily, but will be switching to AQEM once it has all of the features we want and our team is comfortable with the module. Qx is lacking in ease of use, integration, and analytics. AQEM will address all of these things, in time.

It gave us a way to escape paper event management forms and Excel spreadsheets.

Cons:

It doesn't integrate well with other modules, its cumbersome, its difficult to setup.
