About Privy

Privy is a cloud-based email marketing platform, which helps small eCommerce businesses create campaigns, promote products and capture new leads. Features include A/B testing, product recommendations, test messaging, coupon reminders and follow-up emails.

Marketers can create custom campaigns using the drag-and-drop capabilities of the platform, build mailing lists and engage the first-time visitors at the website through popups, signup games, landing pages or embedded forms. It helps businesses handle cart abandonment rates by delivering targeted messages or offers to shoppers with an intent to leave the site before making any purchase. Additionally, marketing teams can create segmented customer list based on orders, country, cart value, reward points to run newsletter campaigns.

Pros:

This looks pretty and I especially like the confetti that falls on the screen after someone subscribes to my mailing list. It was easy to install and control. Works on mobile and desktop. Since installing I'm getting MANY more subscribers to my list.

Cons:

There was a learning curve to set it up - but not much. I had to figure out how to only put it on certain pages and not my entire site which would be annoying.

Pros:

I love that the popups are so fully customizable. I didn't get that with Hellobar and alternatives. I love that the company is transparent. I've seen the CEO on chat so many times and he is awesomely helpful!

Cons:

The integration with my ESP has been dodgy a couple times, but that could be on the other end, not Privy's.

BEWARE: MAJOR DE-DUPLICATION BUG

They seem like good people but their functionality is not ready for prime time and they have been sitting on this major bug for MONTHS and not telling their customers.

It's really too bad that I can't give the a higher rating as I'd love to. I really like the app and the customer service and easy integration. BUT...they have one giant Achilles Heel.

Cons:

Their system allows for the same email address with different title cases to create duplicate records (e.g., person@email.com and Person@Email.com will create SEPARATE contacts) so you end up sending multiples to people all the time. You have to deduplicate your lists MANUALLY! The worst part is that they have known about this issue for months and have still not fixed it. De-duplication is the most fundamental feature of any email marketing program...it's staggering to me that they have let this go on for so long with no fix and have not even communicated the issue to their customers. Ask them about it before you sign up! Even better...test it an you'll see it happen.

Awesome Tool for Growing Your Email List

Overall, Privy has helped me grow my email list and so I am happy with this software.

Pros:

I like the spin the wheel and gamified lead-opt in options. Privy sends me an updated email everyday on the status of my campaigns. I like the personal update. It is also easy to install on your website and to customize the forms and campaigns.

Cons:

I wish there was a little bit more aesthetically pleasing default templates for the lead opt-in. More variety in font options would be great too.

Cons:

After using multiple different list growth tools... Privy is finally the one I've settled on.

Over 3000 emails captured in just under a month and optimized the most effective way to do this because of their reporting system and AB testing.

Pros:

Great features cover all scenarios you want to test and use for acquring emails. The dashboard and reporting is great too. Very feature heavy, I don't even use most of the features they offer.

Cons:

A little pricey when you don't really need to use some of the features they offer. Also would like the ability to better organize the campaigns in date order.

What I like the most about this software was the apps, it can allow create and connect your store to have more features for customers, pop-ups, campaigns, email marketing and many more.

Cons:

You need to understand what privy does first in order to use it, some services are not know about the company providing it, you need to know how to install an app inside Shopify and configure it, in this case.

These Pop-ups Make Some Money!

Pros:

I like this software because it works and makes sales. If you set it up to match your website and branding, it can seriously convert potential sales into real ones.

Cons:

I feel like they purposely make the trial difficult to operate so you have to upgrade your account to the next level. Also, this system does overlap sometimes with the way your email client will run if you are just using it for Abandoned Cart popups.

Fantastic Software with instant results!

Pros:

Creating a site conversion campaign has never been so easy! Privy takes you by the hand and guides you through the setup process in a very friendly way. You can definitely creat a campaign in minutes. Integrating the tool into your website is really easy, so easy you don't actually need to be an expert. Changing, updating or inactivating a campaign is also very easy. In the dashboard, you can see how your campaigns are doing in just a glance. Although the free subscription is limited, it offers great features for startups, like unlimited campaigns and signups, which is actually the main reason to use a tool like Privy. Integration with email service providers is also available in the free plan, and the process is very easy. The Customer Support is trully great. Privy shows to be compromised to deliver the best experience at every level of the process.
