Much better design options than PowerPoint

5

Overall I love using Keynote. Most of my coworkers have PCs and use PowerPoint. My projects always have that extra bit of flair and I love the amazing built in templates as well as the hundreds of options available in Toolbox for iWork.

Pros:
I love that Keynote has almost all the design features available in Pages. If you have used Pages, it is easy to apply all the beautiful options to your projects. Not only is this software free for Mac users, but it has much better templates and design options than PowerPoint as well.
Cons:
There are a few date migration or integration options that PowerPoint has that Keynote doesn't have, but I in all my years using Keynote I have only had one project that I could accomplish with this software. Recent updates have added more date merge options that I am excited to try when I have a project that needs them. There are occasional design options that don't export well when I have to convert my Keynote presentation to a PowerPoint file, but it is getting better and I have learned which features not to use if I know I will have to create a PowerPoint version to share with coworkers.

Reasons for choosing Keynote

I love the design feature of Keynote. The pre-made templates and the custom design features available in Keynote make this my go to for all my projects. It is so much easier to use as it works just like Pages which I use every day.

Reasons for switching to Keynote

Many years ago I found it necessary to use both Microsoft Office software and iWork on Mac. Over the last few years and updates I have stopped paying for my office subscription and do all my projects in Pages, Keynote and Numbers.

Keynote: one solution for all your presentations

5

However, my total experience as a designer for 10 years is very positive: for all my presentations I always rely on Keynote, because it halves any of my working time and always manages to give me new ideas with all its tools.

Pros:
If you too never know where to start for your slide presentations from today you can worry no more, Keynote takes care of it!Templates, guides, animations: with Keynote anyone can make beautiful and functional presentations, it is a thousand steps ahead of all other presentation programs with its always fresh and cool templates.
Cons:
Unfortunately there are few templates available and the interface is not so intuitive, only by really using the software a lot will you know how to find all the features, otherwise some things are so hidden that you think it doesn't have them.

Reasons for choosing Keynote

Because within it there are templates, animations, shadows and effects already set to the best: I can think less and render much more.

A great alternative to MS PowerPoint or Google Slides

5

Overall, we are happy with the features Keynote offeres, especially since it is included for free with all Apple products. Keynote is easy to use, allows us to export files for viewing in PowerPoint, and has solid presentation features.

Pros:
The biggest advantage to Keynote is the fact that it is native to Apple products and is included with them at purchase, something Microsoft does not do with its Office suite by default. The biggest strnght of Keynote is that it is already there and avaiable for use by our team.
Cons:
Keynote lacks some of the deeper features that MS PowerPoint and Google Slides do, including sharing and collaboration tools. While the lack of these is a bit inconvenient, our team still uses Keynote on a pretty regular basis.

Reasons for choosing Keynote

Keynote was easily accessible to all our team members already and did not require any additional installs or licenses.

Reasons for switching to Keynote

Cost was definitly a factor. By utilizing Keynote which came pre-installed on our Apple devices, our team was able to save quite a bit on MS Office licenses.

Pros:
It is the easiest tool to learn and design a presentation. The best thing is the possibility to start a keynote on the iPad and to finish it on the Mac.
Cons:
Apple does't manage it to give us a real collaborative tool still. To comment, work together, exchange data and brainstorm together are not there yet in the way, the competition does it. All the tools in Keynote are there, but not used as they could be. Also, the use of custom fonts between iPad and Mac is totally off or not possible.

Reasons for choosing Keynote

It is free and best integrated to the Apple workspace.

Pros:
I have been a powerpoint user for a long time. But this is the first time I can stay on mac programs and not rely on Microsoft products. I can put together a presentation and send it to my Iphone or Ipad and be ready to go. I started to use IMovie and I found out the people use Keynote to make overlays for their Imovie projects.
Cons:
There are a few things that Keynote lacks from Powerpoint. But It is better than google slides.

Reasons for choosing Keynote

It came with Imac Operating system upgrade in the APP Store

Just a Little Bit Nicer Than the Others

5

Keynote helps me look more professional than my solopreneur operation would naturally allow. I can quickly turn out great looking pieces of content. Keynote appears to be less known or used which is to my advantage because I often get compliments and requests to know what I used that leads to more client engagement.

Ratings Breakdown

Pros:
The templates are top notch and make it really easy and intuitive to put together a classy, high quality presentation easily. As most of my work world moved to Zoom (and is planning to stay), being able to quickly create backgrounds, visual cueing and information sharing has been critical. There are lots of slide presentation apps but Keynote's taste and layout suggestions are just a bit nicer. I consistently get feedback and requests for "tips" about how I got my slides to look so good.
Cons:
Converting Keynote slides into Google Slides takes a couple of steps to work around. You can covert directly in app to PowerPoint, .pdf, .gifs, etc but not Slides yet, which is the most common request from my end users.

Reasons for switching to Keynote

I preferred the templates and felt the app was easier to use overall.

I always have to save my gorgeous Keynote presentation as a Powerpoint because the venue I am presenting at doesn't support Keynote.

Reasons for switching to Keynote

It came installed on my first iMac computer and it was love at first use.

ease of onboarding. its almost identical to powerpoint, and you can 'edit mask' which means you can easily remove the background or foreground.
Cons:
some animations you cannot do but yo can in powerpoint, and when you save a presentation it is not simple to shrink the size of the whole file.

Reasons for choosing Keynote

I didnt choose it over them, rather in tandem.

Pros:
I'm a big fan of Keynote. I think it's the easiest application to create beautiful presentations. It has a lot of features that can make my life easier. For example, Keynote allows me to embed videos and photos into my slides. I can even record myself presenting the slide show and then, I can send the link to my clients.
Cons:
Native templates are a bit poor, but you can find awesome ones on the net.

Reasons for switching to Keynote

When I bought my first iMac, I tried it because it was the default app. Finally, it fitted my needs and was so easy to handle.
