Simple and excellent value

Our designers and social media staff love it! They can absolutely pull what they need at the drop of a hat and without having to ask where the good stuff might be hiding. It was also very simple to set up and multiple team members are helping to populate it with no problems whatsoever.

Pros:

As a diving and vessel operator business we have 13 years of imagery on a local server. Searching for useful imagery and knowing where it can and can't be used has just become impossible. this has lead to repetitive design output and slower delivery times. The easy tagging and search functions have absolutely minimised the search times. Our designers get what they want within minutes, mostly in seconds.

Cons:

I am yet to find anything that I don't like. We wanted simple, and Dash delivers. If I was being picky I would say the auto=-tagging gets a little over excited. But you can ramp that down which helps.

Reasons for choosing Dash

There were many more we looked at than stated above. We chose Dash because they were the only ones who seemed to provide a simple storage solution that allowed easily taggable content without the need to move to a full bore DAM system.

Modern platform, great customer service

Overall the platform is great, the team are brilliant and where we've had hiccups because of our previous platform the team have done their best to help us through it.

Pros:

It's a modern, clean platform, that if setup correctly is easy to use. [sensitive content hidden] and the rest of the team at Dash have been great, answering queries when I've been stuck getting setup. Although we've had the platform for a number of months we're still sorting through the thousands of photos we had previously and making sure they are tagged correctly in the system. It is an easy tool to share images with external clients, as well as direct links when linking to people within the business that have a login.

Cons:

It definitely requires some thought on how you want to get your system working for you, so don't rush into making those decisions. If you start adding in another field after you've loaded images in, you'll have to go back and add data to that field manually. I don't think we fully appreciated that so we're still working through our structure even now we've got all 30,000+ images in the system.

The platform we were using was being closed down.

Pros:

The thing that swayed us compared to the other suppliers we demoed was the ease of use of Dash. Compared to other legacy DAMs, Dash is extremely intuitive. The UI is clean, fresh and easy to navigate. Implementation is also made very simple with the excellent customer support provided. Their onboarding team is very knowledgeable and helpful. I'd highly recommend Dash to any business that wants to centralise the management and storage of its digital assets. I'm confident that the range of features provided will fit most use cases. Dash integrates easily with many common tools so I'm sure it'll become an essential part of your toolkit proving its use daily.

Cons:

We're still early in our journey so nothing major to report here.

Pros:

What we like about Dash is the immense amount of features, which includes every feature they have, at every price point. The features they offer are easy to understand and easy to get people up to speed on. Some of the features (i.e. the portals) give you the ability to explore some very interesting use cases. Customer support has also been great. Getting all of our content into Dash was also a breeze.

Cons:

The auto-tagging is not great, and the overall search features they have to offer leave something to be desired. Making things easy to find for people who do not use Dash as often requires a little bit of leg work.

Pros:

I love the customisation features to personalise your own homepage and how you can have files in multiple folders. The customer service so far has been very positive as we've had multiple video call introductions to the platform with different members of our team. Being able to use my own custom sizes to save files saves me lots of time as a social media manager!

Cons:

I wish our plan came with more storage, however it is easy and affordable to add more on. I love how easy it is to share photos with those outside of your organisation but wish it didn't use up so many of our limited downloads!

Dash was easy and fast to implement. It is user friendly and required little in the way of support. Dash's own customer support were fast to respond to the few questions we had, and were professional and knowledgable.

Cons:

Lack of customisation options. We would have liked the ability to seamlessly integrate the app into a page of our own website whilst retaining the look and feel of our own branding.

Great tool for sharing approved images and videos

Pros:

This tool is fantastic for us to be able to search through our bank of photos and videos to find suitable ones for designs, website and social media use. We also use it track consent for content. Integrates easily with Canva. Love that external photographers can upload directly to the system.

Cons:

Some of the auto-tags aren't very effective and can take a while to remove them.

Pros:

The standout feature of Dash is its simplicity - everything is so intuitive that our team (and the client) were able to get up and running almost instantly. The user interface is clean, modern, and genuinely enjoyable to use, making day-to-day content management effortless.

Cons:

Would be nice to be able to select our own “Featured” assets to be displayed on Home page (instead of the default Recently added assets) and also an uploadable thumbnail for Folders instead of it just showing some assets in the folder.
