ESG made easier

Sedex has helped us to improve a number of suppliers to a level consistent with our company policies and ensure that we have a robust supply chain. The system has been invaluable through the pandemic.

Pros:

Sedex allows us to take a measured approach to our supply chain compliance, ensuring we are aware of potential issues and risk associated across our suppliers. Using the basis of continual improvement, Sedex ensures our energy is concentrated where needed to ensure ethical and social compliance targets are met across the board.

Cons:

The original platform is difficult to navigate at first, without regular use finding certain functions can be difficult. As the software has developed a lot of these areas are being resovled, however the requirement to clear cookies and hard refresh is still needed for some menu's to work.

Reasons for choosing Sedex

Requirement to meet customer's ethical policy - we joined as instructed but quickly realised the potential the system had for our own ESG systems.

Sedex our buddy

Ethical, business ethics and environmental issues are easily solved and shared with the markets. Sedex is keeping businesses exposed to the markets of choice. The platform has improved and easier to navigate in between sections.

Risk assessment (Radar tool) - it is not easy to use but it is very useful. Compliance risk report is very easy to use.New Sedex dashboard - Very easy to search sites using names, site reference numbers, inviting suppliers and creating links between suppliers and customers.Analytics - Easy to use but difficult to find some features .E-learning - very informative and easy to use.

Cons:

The third-party audit section on dashboard and site molecular Self Assessment Questionnaire such as FSA Module.

In recent months the linking of sites has become easier to action. The indirect links in particular has proven beneficial, as it wasn't a clear task.

Cons:

I don't like how the website can require too many clicks or take too much interrogation to navigate. Normally if this was on a website that wasn't a bought for service, I would refrain from using.

Pros:

The most usefull tool of SEDEX is the connections you can make with your suppliers to make the supplychain due dilligence visable for ourselves and our clients.The RADAR tool is usefull in assesing possible suppliers

Cons:

In the old portal and analatics page it can be difficult to find the things you want to see.Steps are being made to make the portal more user friendly.

getting better in terms of user experience

Cons:

you need to go to RADAR for some info, reports for other, new platform seem to be pulling them together but for supplier audits still need to switch between old / new platform as not showing same details which is time consuming and duplication of work.

Pros:

Sedex provides extensive knowledge and research on any vendor connection, giving you insight into a vendor when without being physically present. It helps in Risk Managment and overall vendor quality control.

Cons:

Depending on the type of connection you have, it requires approval from the other party. This limits the simplicity of the system and can cause delays wait for the approval of the other party, especially in large companies where the individual requesting the connection is not the same one approving.

Cons:

Pros:

It is a helpful tool to analyse and assess social risks related to the supply chain. It's become so widespread that it is now very common that suppliers all over the world know the tool or are using it already and having a first look at the inherent risks of a supply chain (especially overseas) is easier and more effective.

Cons:

Somehow suppliers have difficulties in going through the self assessment tool and request our assistance in filling the questionnaire in.
