Next-generation AI-powered search

Perplexity has replaced google for any search query that requires more context and reasoning. As LLMs become smarter and faster, I see myself using Perplexity most of the time.

Pros:

Perplexity unlocks the power of LLM-powered search by incorporating internet-browsing to provide the most relevant results. The Deep Research capability leverages DeepSeek to provide reasoned answers and complete research write ups. I also like the attribution for any external sources which are used. You can choose from a variety of LLMs and reasoning models to compare results.

Cons:

Initially the lag time to produce an answer took time to get used to. However they do provide good UX via status updates so now the 5-10 delay is more palatable. Even if you buy the $20 / month plan, you still need to pay extra for API access beyond $5. However the token cost is affordable.

Cons:

Nothing to be precise. Everything about it is perfect for me

It's really easy to use and accurate for scanning large text and check grammar and recommend content creation.

Cons:

The text recommendations are pretty much the same- same pattern/expressions used.

It is very knowledgeable of topics, it has access to the web, and shows you the sources of where it has found the info given. Its copilot feature is phenomenal even going as far as asking you clarifying questions to make sure it can be more accurate.

Cons:

I wish it had a few more free copilot uses each day, but I'm Thankful for the few free that you get every day regardless. It's worth purchasing.

Reasons for switching to Perplexity

Bing is argumentative, it preaches at you and is stubborn (I.e. It argued with me calling me wrong and was being "rude" and standoffish claiming it was the year 2021)

The Chrome extension is really convenient. I use it throughout the day as my primary research tool as well as to fact check details

Cons:

I would like the screen on the Chrome extension to stay active for a minute longer than it does

Perplexity - My Take after 6 Months

Overall experience is good , basically i use voice mode to chitchat or having a human like convo with Perplexity , it gives so much human type of vibes so that's good

Numerous helpful models at a single place is the best thing about Perplexity , and it's autonomous detection whether which model is best for specific question is p good

Cons:

I have used few more apps like Perplexity but what i have encountered is , Perplexity uses less sources that others for a Search and also it has some hallucinations which kindaa sucks

I most like the way that you can communicate with the AI and how quickly it can respond. Better then most of the similar programs

Cons:

When you using the voice communication you can’t be understood if there is some noise in the background.

Pros:

I love using Perplexity because it has a clean UI that is fast and easy to use. Its AI powered Search comes with sources or clickable citations and this gives validity to the answers provided thus a great tool for research.

Cons:

Perplexity meets all my needs. By using the AI i can create schedules, workout plans, meal plans thereby i do not find any Cons about it.
