Momentum IoT offers a 100% cloud-managed GPS Telematics product that helps field service fleet managers track and manage their fleets.

The product is ideal for small- and mid-sized fleets with a need for simple, straightforward asset tracking whose current or future needs may include mixed makes or asset types.

Rugged and modular, our Eagle 1 device installs easily into a wide variety of vehicles and equipment-- from Ford pickups to trailers to heavy and light equipment. Just swap the cable and install. Momentum is easy to use for the whole team

I’ve been working with Momentum Eagle-1 devices for almost 2 years. They are quick to install and have great connectivity. We rolled Momentum out to our whole fleet, including trucks and trailers. For our local offices, we set each one up with a monitor that’s set to show Momentum’s live map of their tracked assets. All of this was done without additional cost or complex development. Once the devices were plugged in, viewing and tracking them online was very fast. The team is friendly and has supported all our users, from the boardroom to the field teams. Billing has been clear and simple, as easy as using the device and applications themselves.

Pros:

Easy to set up. Responsive vendor with good, clear support. New features keep coming regularly.

Cons:

There were a couple issues with notifications, but once we learned more about setting up monitors and assigning users, this got much better.

Momentum: The Chick-Fil-A of fleet visibility

I was set up with Momentum upon starting a new position. Upon receiving some training from Momentum themselves, our location has had many problems put at ease with all of the features that they have to offer. With new features coming up constantly, we're excited for what's to come as well.

Momentum has everything you could want for fleet management. Accurate GPS locations, driver scorecards, fleet maintenance, profitability trackers, and more. Their customer service is top tier as well.

Cons:

So far, our company hasn't had any negative experiences with Momentum. Everything has worked above our expectations.

Relatively easy to use. Very inexpensive

Cons:

It isn't real time (there is a delay between pings) and we have gaps in converge sometimes

We hear you on the ping delay, currently it is every 10 seconds with the map updating every 60 seconds. The coverage gaps can pop up due to network coverage, and we’re constantly working to improve to keep your data flowing smoothly. Great GPS for the money and simplicity!

Great. Customer service is responsive and the ease of everything has been great. The installation process is also very easy.

Pros:

I thought it was very easy to install and liked the interface. Also the IFTA tax reports are great. Really makes reporting those miles easy.

Cons:

Some of the location tracking can be hard sometimes. Like it's difficult to see exact locations without really spending time.

Knowledge is Power!

Overall I love momentum. The data that is collected is full spectrum. It's so much easier to track my crews.

Pros:

Ease of use, value for money, and customer support. Tracking is great, i love being able to see where my crews are at at any given time. I also like knowing the status of my vehicles as well, mileage, error codes, fuel levels, driver grades, etc.

Cons:

With monitors and notifications, it's hard to get the full story or the whole picture. For instance, if someone exits a geofence, I have to go search to find out when they arrived and calculate how long they were in the geofenced area (gas stations "filling up with gas" for 45 mins, etc.). Or the speed limit monitor tells me the time they were speeding, but not the actual speed, therefor I have to go search their history to try to get an idea of the range they were driving in. Also, the application on ipads just doesn't fit the form. It's like a mobile sized app that doesn't utilize the fullscreen. This makes it difficult for my field managers to use to monitor their crews.

Pros:

Cost savings were huge without dropping much functionality. We get the fast, accurate gps readings as well as speed of the vehicles letting us keep track of the whole fleet. The alerts allow us to track when vehicles enter certain geo locations or exceed the speed limit of the company vehicles.

Cons:

Some vehicles could not handle the obdII readers and were forced to use 12v battery connected readers.

Reasons for choosing Momentum IoT

We weren't concerned with a long list of features we simply wanted a cost effective way to reliably, accurately, and quickly track all the vehicles and monitor their speed.

Reasons for switching to Momentum IoT

Sprint was being bought out by t-mobile forcing a switch and momentum emerged as the best answer for our company.

We have used other products, and none even come close to Momentum IoT. Super fast installation with minimal experience, updating the website is fast & easy - the connection is always clear & strong - even in the mountains! The repair & maintenance alerts, the speed alerts & more all make for an affordable, intelligent solution to vehicle information& tracking!

Cons:

When I find something, I will let you know.

Pleasantly Surprised!

I was pleasantly surprised with Momentum. We are a small family-owned business and when we begin talking about the benefits of a tracking device, I didn't think it would be possible at our size. I had found Momentum after doing some research online and thought it was too good to be true. I'm happy to report that it has lived up to all that it says it does. It's been very helpful in more ways than one and we are very happy with the new dash cams.

Cons:

The only thing I can think of is that you can't view the dash cam on the app yet. I'm sure that will be available soon.

Great product for small to medium sized businesses

We have just three delivery trucks and use the tracker and the cameras. It's been a valuable tool to track drivers for our customers, to ensure they are driving in a safe manner. They know that if we see a RED line on the trips, it's a sit down with the boss! I feel it's a good value and a useful tool and in the event of an accident it should provide valuable data that hopefully will benefit us.

The website is not overly intuitive however once you get poking around it's easy to pick up and find what you need.

Cons:

I have been with them from many years and honestly can't think of any.
