About Race Entry

Race Entry is a full-service, cloud-based registration management solution designed for marathons, fun runs, relays, triathlons, and other races.

In addition to its streamlined registration process, Race Entry offers trackable growth and marketing tools, vendor and sponsor management, participant self-edits, race map creation, volunteer management, fundraising tools, and online store management.

All of Race Entry’s tools are available to race directors at no cost. The company covers credit card and merchant fees with its 4.97% + $1.25 fee per registration. Most races pass this fee to their participants, though it is possible for races to cover these fees instead.

Race Entry’s registration pages offer a simple two-page pathway. This simplified registration process ensures you have better conversion rates when people sign up. Registration pages are also fully customizable to match your branding and to include questions unique to your race.

It’s easy to track the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns with Race Entry’s growth tools. Offer a small discount to participants who share your registration page with their friends on Facebook to create buzz and generate more sign-ups...

Incentivize referrals by offering rebates for each new registration that your participants refer. End abandoned carts with automated, customizable emails encouraging people to finish their registration with a link to the page right where they left off. Automatically apply group discounts, and use custom promo codes to track other marketing efforts. Send additional emails to your participants and prospective participants with Race Entry’s emailer. Emails are fully customizable and can be scheduled to send in advance. You can automatically include links to your social media accounts, your logo, and your sponsor logos in each email. Raise more money for your partner charities with dedicated fundraiser pages that track progress to goals and make it easy for participants to create fundraising teams. You can even work with charities to offer free entries to people who meet certain fundraising goals. Simplify vendor and sponsor management with an online form to sell booths, sponsorships, and other marketing opportunities. Track payments from sponsors and display sponsors with links to their offers from your marketing page. Manage your merchandise inventory and sales with Race Entry’s software. Add merchandise to the registration pathway or sell it from a separate page. You can even sell it at packet pick-up or the finish line using Race Entry’s integrated app. Use Race Entry’s software to coordinate with volunteers – post tasks, view sign-ups, and track attendance all from one place. Reduce the time you spend on customer service by enabling self-edits, deferrals, and transfers. Now, participants can fully manage their registration details themselves without contacting you. You can set deadlines for self-edits and fees for deferrals and transfers. You’ll also benefit from tools that make race day memorable. Create a race map that includes aid station and portapotty locations, elevation, and more. Use these maps to help participants prepare for your race. Race Entry’s timing integrations make it easy to display results so participants can view them easily. You can also automatically display photos for purchase and a finish line video on individualized results pages. Beyond all of these robust features, you’ll benefit from dedicated account management. You’ll get assistance with your questions and even help completing tasks in Race Entry’s software.

    The staff at Race Entry always provides great service and are always looking for ways to help out.
    Cons:
    I would like it better if the user could upload lists of people rather than having to get their staff to do it for us which creates an extra step.

    Thanks for the review. We actually use to allow event organizers to upload their own participants, but we found that the complication of the feature lead to frustration. Historically it has been faster for us to do this for our customers than to teach all the possible weird file issues that may need to be addressed depending on where your file came from. We just did not want users to be frustrated with how hard it is to upload if it is due to a file issue that might get blamed mistakenly on our software. We would rather us get frustrated by a bad file than our customers. This may be to sweeping of a policy, but we will take your feedback into consideration. Thanks for the review!

    The best registration site around

    My company moved over to RaceEntry a few years ago from another platform and haven't looked back I continue to tell others about the site for their events and plan to do so far into the future.

    Ease of use from both race director and registrant Support The ability to so much from one central location visuals of the page is professional and makes the process of registering straight forward.
    Cons:
    The only real issue I have with the site is that there are some things that can get set up on the page and if you copy it to the next year it has required me to request assistance to remove it.

    Race Entry Software was easy to set up, change, update and manage. Adding Race Entry to our event changed everything. Our runners have loved the ease of registration, and as the Admin of our account I appreciate the updates and available options for pulling information.
    Cons:
    The absolute ONLY thing that I was frustrated with (and it was probably just something that I didn't know) was that when I changed the picture on my Marketing page to our logo, it made the background difficult to see/read.

    Even someone like myself that isn’t very tech savvy can navigate through and figure out how to set up my various registration sites. If I’m not sure how to do something; [sensitive content hidden] is always there to help. He even answered an emergency call from me on Father’s Day from the top of a mountain when I accidentally did something that shut down my registration.
    Cons:
    What’s not to like?! If I have to pick something, it is hard to edit pricing.

    Reasons for switching to Race Entry

    The auto fill did not find the 2 products I used before Event Brite had terrible customer serve for both the participants and myself. I like that I can “hide” a few extra dollars in the processing fees for my company because your fees are reasonable from the start. I like that the sign up looks just like my website and not a third party vendor Active.com gave me very bad advertising advice so they could fill their own pockets. They had me advertise 8 months prior to a fun run event when we should have waited until more like 6 weeks prior

    Race Entry is very easy to use. It is extremely easy to use year over year, I love the fact that i can just copy last years race entry, registration and marketing pages and just update them to this years information. The graphs that they have that show timelines from previous years of when people signed up are very helpful in our e-mail marketing campaigns.
    Cons:
    It was not as intuitive the first year i used it, there were too many options that were not spelled out clearly, but after just a little practice it became very easy to use. I am glad that I had a Sales/Customer Service person who walked me though all the features the first year.

    Experience has been amazing. In particular customer support has been exceptional from day one, as he even answered a late night text message on the eve of our race.

    It just makes everything about the race so much easier to handle. Being able to use promo codes at various levels is a huge plus for us when working with our sponsorship packages. Being able to copy a race from one year to the next is also very convenient since very few things change for our race.
    Cons:
    Haven’t found any issues. Some of the formatting on the registration page with background colors can look bad sometimes though.

    The customer service is the best. It’s also easy to duplicate our events.
    Cons:
    - not user friendly - needs a face lift that is more 2018 - features to add multiple admins so you don’t have to add in every event. - make the registration options more flashy

    I like all of the reporting features and the ability to fundraise.
    Cons:
    There were a few times I needed assistance with changing the race fees. It wasn’t allowing me to do it, or it wasn’t working.
