PikMyKid is easy to use for parents and school employees. When we started using PikMyKid, almost all of our families got signed up and started using the app right away.

Cons:

PikMyKid compares so favorably with its competitors, it's hard to find something I don't like! It was easy to set up and implement and provides great value for investment.

Reasons for switching to Pikmykid

SchoolPass was so difficult to implement. I would not recommend it unless you are able to auto-link it to your student information system.

PIKMYKID has helped make our very large Elementary school’s dismissal almost seamless. We do not use all of the features of the sight has to offer, but it definitely keeps our carline organized.

Pros:

As the administrative assistant in a charter school who services 14 different school districts with transportation, I absolutely LOVE Pikmykid. We are able to dismiss 30 scholars in 20 minutes. The safety feature is also amazing. Putting dismissal changes in the hands of the parents has also eliminated many of the incoming phone calls to the school.

Cons:

There isn't anything I dislike about Pikmykid outside of the fact that we are a 3 school campus but can't have all 3 schools on the same app due to the SFT

You will love the pikmykid app.

The experience with pikmykid has been very positive. We have even renewed our contract for another three years. It really helps put me at ease knowing that for the next three years, I won't have to worry as much about dismissal.

Pros:

With pikmykid there are less phone calls into the office. It is easier to keep track of alternating schedules for parents. It helped to organize our parking lot and reduce on accidents.

I feel like it is very effective and useful, but I don't know how to use all of the features.

Over all it's been good. There were a few kinks but we got them worked out and are satisfied.

simplifies the drive through pick up car line

Cons:

I don't like that only 5 kids at a time can be in the app to be dismissed. Sometimes they don't come out in the order they're on the app and you can't dismiss them if they're still listed in the "Next" section. It makes it hard to keep track of who has already been picked up.

"Makes dismissal a snap!" from Teacher

I use this product as a teacher and a parent. Once you learn how to use it, and from a parent's perspective, where you need to be in line to check-in; our school wisely put up a stop sign that says "PIKMYKID check in here," it works wonderfully. It is easy to see in real-time how a car/parent is moving through the lines so we can quickly and safely get students where they need to be. There was a ramp-up time of a few weeks, but now that we've been using it all school year, things are going quite well.

I can quickly see every student and where they need to be. The real-time aspects of the dismissal and dispatcher view are excellent. I can broadcast it in my classroom and students can see when and where they are in line, allowing for a quick and efficient dismissal process. Parents or school staff can update students pick up in real-time, allowing for last-minute changes for activities,

Cons:

It took a while to learn how to correctly use the features, and which dashboard to be on to be able to accurately dismiss students from the classroom. You need to have robust parent training as well to ensure that parents only use the check-in feature when they are in line...or your dismissal will be off.
