Great software

Speech to text programs that I’ve worked with range from bad to mediocre, but LilySpeech is a powerful tool. It works really fast, is very accurate, and easy to use. The dictation is almost instant, and I was genuinely surprised for how well it understands how people naturally speak with a bit of background noise. The functionality of the software is effortless which is also a bonus. It runs smoothly in the background without slowing down my computer. Also, with the ability to directly use the program wirting to any text field, I get so much more time when drafting emails, taking notes or working on documents.

ease of use and very high dictation recognition capability. Intuitive interface. Very affordable price for the ad-free version

Cons:

so far, nothing. As for the software itself, there are no notable disadvantages. Maybe the only issue is that it could have been marketed better. I found it after investing considerable time and effort.

Only Good Words For LilySpeech

There were a few glitches over the years but in the long run LilySpeech worked smoothly and efficiently - and still does. I am very pleased with this item.

Pros:

Easy to install, user friendly, accurate and fairly quick to translate the speech to the dialog box. It has a preview feature and several options for more complex transcription assignments. And both times I trached out for tech support, their reps were patient, professional but friendly at the same time. 4 ****s.

Cons:

It is a little slow to load and I had some trouble finding the LilySpeech icon one it opened. Once the LilySpeech download window not only never downloaded but never vacated my screen no matter what I did, until I finally uninstalled it. But that was a singular event and never came close to recurring.

Reasons for choosing LilySpeech

It was the only Speech to Text utility that placed the text in the place you wanted it; all the others were Speak - Copy from text pane -Paste into destination.

So bad, I challenge you to try it

I'm looking for a new voice to text for simple Word documents. I saw great reviews for LliySpeech and tried it - this might be the worst app I've used in the past several months as I shop for a new service. The inability to transcribe a simple sentence without complex words was truly astounding. And to correct those mistakes you have to go through a cumbersome process word by word without voice direction. Sometimes, the transcribes sentence was so nonsensical I couldn't even tell what I was trying to say. There's no flow with this app, you spend so much time correcting its mistakes you can't ever 'get in the zone'. Try it - you'll see. I have to assume the great reviews for this app are purchased

It cost nothing. There's literally nothing else good about this app. I have to keep typing to meet the minimum characters

Cons:

Extremely poor word recognition. Clumsy correction protocol. No ability to train. Picks up soft ambient noises from far away, including other people talking

I was in the middle of writing something and getting tired of typing so I just Googled something and boom found this utility. I cannot believe how easy and convenient it is and how much Easier it makes my life. In fact I'm typing this review after having Installed this about 3 minutes ago. It's great!In fact it's so intuitive I simply hit tab and it went to the next block with no effort. I am really amazed at how great this is.

Cons:

I can't find any cons but since it wants me to type more than 40 characters I'm adding this

Started out fairly good but as of this morning the company update states that Lily speech will no lo

Initially, I was able to dictate with some easy even though there were many errors. This was because Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking had stopped working after my computer was upgraded to 8.1. But obviously it's a disaster for them to all of a sudden disappear

Best option in my opinion

I'm a long-time speech recognition user. Nothing's perfect, but this works as well or better than anything on the market. It's extremely lightweight on your computer and it's extremely affordable. Obvious choice in my opinion.

I just really like the time savings. I'm a terrible typer and not a great speller so this is a lifesaver.

Nothing really. Speech recognition is never perfect... I've used others, so I guess there's that, but that's asking too much.

Very cool, works great

Has been saving me lots of time on my emailing. I like the canned answer feature too. I've use Dragon Naturally Speaking, but it does not work well with my laptop microphone. This seems to work very well.

Great software - Easy To Use!
