About Philips SpeechLive

Philips SpeechLive is a cost-effective cloud-based dictation solution tailored for the new evolution of hybrid working. SpeechLive is a per-user, subscription-based solution with no upfront investment or requirement to maintain an expensive IT infrastructure.

Utilizing Microsoft Azure, SpeechLive uses end-to-end encryption to guarantee the highest level of data privacy and security. The solution is suitable for companies of any size, with either a ‘plug and play’ or bespoke deployments, all options are covered and available.

SpeechLive is equipped to support the digital transformation for any company of any size, suitable for a single user or upscaled for an enterprise-level business. This cloud solution doesn’t require installation.

Some of the new features for SpeechLive, include advanced reporting and centralised configuration of the solution specifically for larger customers.

The advanced reporting feature allows the admin or practice manager to run reports on a few different criteria, including:

number of dictations on the system
throughput time, and
what method was used to complete the task i.e., transcription service, in-house typist or speech recognition

Pros:

I have been using dictation equipment for decades and this is by far the best system I have used. the Software is easy and intuitive to install with a few steps, and when done it is very easy to use, with clear playback, easy to use controls and a handy storage system. Well done Phillips.

Cons:

I like everything about it. I do not really think that there is anything NOT to like.

Reasons for switching to Philips SpeechLive

The old one stopped working. That was no problem after 7 years of good use.

The only audio/transcribing programme you will need!

I can't imagine my job without it now - no tapes to go missing or rubbish recordings, quick notifications that I have work in my intray,

Pros:

This software is intuitive, handles even the longest dictations, suffers no deterioration in quality (compared to the old days of tapes!), keeps dictations in archive just in case - and facilitates away from the office working ... It meant I was able to work through the whole of the pandemic, and has enabled me to do a blend of home & office working now. I can't praise it highly enough

Transcription and Daily Instructions for Virtual and Flexible Working

Enables my manager to dictate documents and tasks from his phone in his own time for me to pick up whenever I start work. It therefore works brilliantly with our flexible working patterns.

Pros:

My manager and I started our working relationship using traditional cassette tape dictation and transcription machines. We started using SpeechExec Pro to go digital which changed our lives and then we transitioned to SpeechLive which has streamlined and improved our efficiency immeasurably. In a nutshell, as in all things, its the technology compared to what pre-dated that!

Cons:

Nothing springs to mind for me but my manager sometimes has issues dipping in and out of the dictation app on his phone.
