Ease of use. the added benefit of the new AI system that is easy for my staff to use and saves time on medical records

Sometimes it doesn't pick up the right words, and the microphone is sensitive to all the ambient noise

Get Talkatoo if you need to dictate on your MAC. You don't want it...you need it.

When Dragon stopped supporting “Microsoft Word for Mac,” Talkatoo saved my career. I am a physician, not a veterinarian for whom the program was initially developed. But trust me, it makes no difference what kind of work you do. If you use a Mac and need voice-to-transcription software, go with Talkatoo. I cannot recommend them too highly. The company itself, its developers, and tech support are the best in the industry and the most accessible you will ever find.

Pros:

In my work as a physician, the accuracy rate is impressive. Even technical words come out right. And if I need a word or phrase that's out of the ordinary, I add it to my dictionary and suddenly its recognized about ninety-eight percent of the time.

Cons:

I initially had some problems with punctuation. Every time I dictated the word "colon" as it referred to a portion of the intestinal system, a punctuation mark - : - showed up. Talkatoo took care of the problem. Getting dates properly transcribed took a little learning on my part. But, as usual, that's been handled too.

Reasons for switching to Talkatoo

Dragon stopped making and supporting Work for Mac I use in all my work.

Pros:

Talkatoo was easy to set up, and just kept getting better as it learned our doctor's preferences. The price is just right for our small private clinic and we appreciate the efficiency and accuracy it has brought to our workflows.

Cons:

It can be difficult to set up custom templates, though that is continually improving. One of our doctor's is very particular, and it has been difficult to get that just right.

Ability to quickly enter medical notes/records. Easy in an ambulatory setting and notes are completed.

Cons:

Once a note is submitted, I cannot go back and edit the summary before copying and pasting into ezyVet.

Very helpful for my doctors

It helps my doctors get through their medical records more thoroughly. Seems to help with typos and productivity.

Cons:

Nothing it has been great so far. The o my down side is that my doctor downloaded on my surgery computer so I have to minimize it.

Go for it you wont regret it

It catches everything. If I was writing the note, I might forget something my dog's doctor said in passing, so I do like that.

Great starting place for record writing.

Overall, I am happy with the experience. I think there is room for improvement both on Talkatoo's side and with user error. However, I think with time it will be much easier.

I have a horrible memory and a poor note taker so I appreciate having the conversation recorded and put into clear sentence form.

Cons:

I didn't like not being able to edit after submitting but I believe that problem has been fixed. Thank you
