    Our overall experience with Brightpearl has been extremely positive. Transitioning Dusk Lighting from Visualsoft to Shopify and Brightpearl was a daunting task, but [sensitive content hidden] and the wider Brightpearl team made the process far more manageable. From weekly training sessions to opportunities to test real-world scenarios, the support was consistent, thorough, and tailored to our business. [sensitive content hidden] took the time to understand how we operate, ensuring the system was implemented in a way that supported our workflows. Challenges inevitably arose with such a major change, but the team worked proactively to find practical solutions, often collaborating effectively with partners like Business Solutions and Shiptheory, and even coordinating with Visualsoft when needed. Today, Brightpearl provides a robust platform for stock management, order processing, and reporting. While there are occasional teething issues, the support is reliable, and we feel confident in the system’s ability to meet our needs. Overall, it has been a highly positive experience, and we would recommend Brightpearl to any growing retailer looking for a comprehensive and supportive operations platform.

Comprehensive functionality for stock management, order processing and reporting, giving us better operational visibility. Reliable ongoing support post-launch, which provides reassurance as we continue to embed the system.
    Cons:
    One operational limitation for us is the requirement to manually create Purchase Orders. There isn’t currently an option for a cumulative PO that builds automatically in the background based on demand. A cumulative PO would allow us to monitor value and quantities throughout the day or week, rather than being forced to create multiple POs immediately. As a result, we often generate several smaller POs daily, many of which fall below carriage-paid thresholds. Because we operate largely on a just-in-time model while also holding some stock, this has required a shift in how we manage purchasing. Merging POs while maintaining accurate auto-fulfilment can be complex, and naturally introduces potential for human error if not managed carefully. That said, this is more about adapting our internal processes to the system’s current structure than a fundamental flaw with Brightpearl.

    The ease of use, it may have a lot of features but how everything works together to manage our orders provides a level of fine tuned control that is absolutely requited for the scale and complexity of our operations.
    Cons:
    It can be inconsistent. Automations running off-book, status filters not consistently displaying their contents as prescribed, the many layers of BP means that points of failure can be difficult to address.

    Very expensive for little gain

    Just too many things that BRightpearl doesn't do. Its website claimed that you could list directly from Brightpearl onto eBay but it turned out to be untrue as Brightpearl didn't support eBay Postage Policies (That's eBayspeak for shipping tables). Nor could it list directly to any of the Amazon websites, nor to Shopify or anywhere else. Yet other software can do all of that, and has Google Translate Professional built in so that you can list directly to Amazon Poland without you having to employ a translator. So Brightpearl just falls flat on its face in far too many areas compared to the competition. The worst thing is trying to leave. I am leaving and would like to keep read only access for a year to make it easy to check any warranty claims. Brightpearl have quoted £10,080 for that when full acess costs me less than half of that. So if you are considering BRightpearl, keep looking, there are much better deals available.

    The only thing that I really like about this software is that they have good support staff. I was initially attracted to Brightpearl because it included integrated accounts. It has taken me 6 years to realise that this was a false way of thinking as there is other software that integrates seamlessly with reasonably-priced good quality accounting software like Xero, Quickbooks and Sage. Essentially with Brightpearl you are paying a high price for an accounting system that is used by a relatively small number of users (online it says Brightpearl has about 1,000 users - that is a very small number to finance a piece of accounting software. Eventually I realised how much it was missing in other areas.
    Cons:
    The biggest drawback with Brightpearl is the small number of marketplaces it support compared to many of its competitors. They claim to integrate with Amazon, but this is only partially true. Amazon Europe have added 3 new marketplaces but BRightpearl have ingnored them where similar software providers have integrations at no extra cost. Brightpearl haven't added a single marketplace integration in 6 years, and the only one planned, OnBuy, a small marketplace unlikely to generate much revenue, comes at an extra cost. When I started with Brightpearl they were advertising it as the software to automate your online selling, but it was very limited as far as automation was concerned. After a couple of years they launched the Brightpearl Automation App. Funny that you should need an additional app, at extra cost, to do what the software was promising to do 2 years earlier. many things come at extra cost with Brightpearl but are available at no extra cost with other software. Brightpearl doesn't calculate VAT correctly. If you get an order from the Channel Islands, Brightpearl will add 20% VAT even though there is no VAT in th Channel Islands. (it does the same with the Canary Islands which also are not subject to VAT. It would be simply to write a filter to catch these and put correct 0 VAT on them, but they just don't seem to care if their customers are paying the tax men a bit more than they should be.

    Reliable Operations Platform with Great Implementation Support

    Our Brightpearl Implementation Consultant delivered excellent training that helped our company align with industry best practices from day one. As we learned more about the platform’s advanced configuration options, our internal workflows became significantly faster and more consistent. The automation engine now handles the majority of our fulfilment processes, with only a small portion requiring manual review. The WMS module has improved warehouse efficiency and reliably synchronizes customer notes and packed-dimensions data with ShipStation—something that many competing systems struggle with. Brightpearl has also enabled us to regain full control of our inventory and activate accurate real‑time stock sync to all our sales channels. Having purchase orders managed directly within Brightpearl makes inbound shipment tracking straightforward as well. Finally, the Inventory Planner (Demand Planner) add‑on has proven valuable in preventing stockouts; it can support complex forecasting and replenishment needs as long as you commit the time to configure it properly.

    Brightpearl’s onboarding process is exceptionally thorough. Their team invests real effort into understanding a customer’s operational needs, and the implementation support is strong across the board—from structured training sessions to well‑coordinated customization work involving third‑party partners when needed. The Automations feature is another major advantage. It allows us to build powerful workflows using order data such as SKUs, sales channels, shipping methods, and customer history. This has enabled us to automate tasks like reviewing customer notes before fulfilment, adding promotional items with logic-based limits, and routing orders to the appropriate warehouse. I also appreciate that Brightpearl provides predictable annual software costs. In an industry where surprise renewal price hikes are common, the transparency and year‑to‑year consistency are genuinely refreshing.
    Cons:
    The session timeout is one of the most frustrating aspects of using Brightpearl. It logs users out after a relatively short period of inactivity, which is disruptive for anyone who needs to keep the tab open throughout the day but isn’t working inside it continuously. Compounding this, the interface doesn’t automatically refresh to indicate that the session has expired, so you only discover you’ve been logged out after clicking something—a daily friction point for our entire team. The built‑in search functionality also feels quite limited, especially for users who rely heavily on quick data retrieval. Additionally, permissions could be more granular; for example, offering read‑only access to inventory location data would be extremely useful, but currently it’s an all‑or‑nothing permission.

    Reasons for choosing Brightpearl

    Linnworks came in at a lower price point, but the sales experience felt rushed and transactional. Their team didn’t seem patient or interested in understanding our business needs during the demo, which raised concerns about long‑term support and overall value. Even at a slightly cheaper cost, it didn’t inspire confidence and ultimately felt like worse value for money. Acumatica offered a somewhat richer set of individual modules, but the ecosystem had fewer direct integrations we rely on. Their pricing was also higher, and their implementation approach—where major version releases occur every six months and you must find and manage a third‑party partner for deployment—felt unnecessarily complex. Compared to that, Brightpearl’s implementation process was far more streamlined, coordinated, and easy to navigate. Overall, Brightpearl delivered the strongest combination of integrations, user experience, onboarding quality, and long‑term value.

    Brightpearl has been our accounting and source of truth since 2021. We moved to the system from a larger ERP system due to its versatility, accounting capabilities and its ability to connect easily to other systems. We have found that those capabilities are still very useful today and as we change and grow as a company, we find that Brightpearl is able to accommodate those changes fluidly. In addition, Brightpearl allows the user to modify its system to accommodate its own needs through automation and system configuration. Moreover, we have been lucky to have been paired with a really great Account Manager and Technical Support manager who keep our partnership with Brightpearl running smoothly. A bonus is that the same team members have been with us basically since our start! Lastly, there is an ease to customer support as we you can enter a ticket, which is generally answered the same day if not within hours of receipt or you are able to call the service team and get a response immediately.
    Cons:
    We have a few cons but one of them is that as a B2B and B2C seller, we have found that our reporting needs are not always met. A more robust reporting system found within the native integration and without having to connect with another system would be preferable - specifically, low stock reporting and year over year reporting could be more robust!

    Brightpearl has improved our productivity and efficiency throughout the company. The automations and integrations have streamlined lots of our order processing processes. We have various sales channels and marketplaces we sell on and Brightpearl integrates with them, reducing hugely our labour hours. The integrated accounting system is also a great plus, as it means we do not need a seperate system for this. It makes VAT returns and bank reconciliations really straightforward. It can feel quite expensive, but we definitly feel we get value for money and it pays for itself in efficiency savings.
    Cons:
    I would like a more powerful template builder and a native etsy integration. Would also like a more straightforward 2 factor authentication for security, which I feel is essential for a software like this.

    The old system was cumbersome and slow. We wanted a system that did everything and we were adding marketplaces.

    Simple system with good flexibility to setup to meet our needs and workflows. We've been able to move away from multiple systems to one, and streamline many processes saving huge amounts of time and reducing human input and errors. When needed, support is great, and the team at BrightPearl are always a pleasure to speak and deal with.
    Cons:
    Top level reporting could be better. Ability to be able to filter reports more narrowly by custom fields and compare year by year. Reporting on margins would also be nice, again with period comparisons. This data is important to help analysis business performance and where focus may be required.

    Brightpearl has been a solid system for us, delivering good value for money over many years.     We make it work. But most importantly, it CAN be made to work.

    With the help of some third parties and our own custom integrations we make it work. The core software does offer a decent amount of what we need.

    It does allow us to track out shipments and, with the help of some third parties, integrated with our warehouses for automated entry.
    Cons:
    Lack of support for BOMs and inability to attach invoices. The formatting of hthe API outputs is also pretty rough and non-standard, though workable.
