Pros:
Budgyt makes it possible to consolidate detailed line-item budget planning into once place. Budgyt accomplishes this by offering the largest number of sub-tiers of any budget SAAS out there, unlimited line-items under each lowest level account category, and line-item notes for expense/income justification. No more department-level spreadsheets because your budgeting software only supports 2 or 3 sub-tiers. You can easily fit every nit-picky detail into Budgyt!
Cons:
After years of using Budgyt, I still struggle with using the built-in equation builders. They are highly customizable, which is great, but they don't always seem to follow traditional math logic. I've resorted to running the few calculations I need to do externally and linking a spreadsheet to a Budgyt line item, which works fine for me and is a small price to pay for the level of detailed planning Budgyt facilitates.

I selected Budgyt for the number of sub-tier account categories available at their price point. Other softwares only had 2 or 3, limiting the level of detail budgeting you can conduct. Budgyt has 5, including departments.

Forget Excel!!

This is the second organization where I have introduced Budgyt. LOVE everything about them! The product is amazing and any issue/learning opportunities I find, support is right there and very helpful!

I love Budgyt for its ease of use and intuitive design. It has made budgeting and forecasting much simpler for our small nonprofit organization. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, not only for me but also for others in my team, as it is quite easy to teach them how to use it. This intuitive interface has greatly streamlined what used to be a complex and cumbersome process in Excel, significantly enhancing our productivity. Furthermore, the initial setup was pretty straightforward, thanks to the supportive team at Budgyt. They took the time to understand our organization's needs and mapped everything out for us, which made the transition seamless. Overall, Budgyt has transformed our budgeting process into a much more efficient and less stressful task.
Cons:
I find that Budgyt has limitations with its integration capabilities. Although there have been significant updates to allow for automatic downloads directly from QuickBooks into Budgyt, it currently only supports automation with one company at a time. This limitation is inconvenient, especially when managing multiple entities, and it would be beneficial if the automation could be expanded to accommodate multiple companies simultaneously.

Very Pleased with Budgyt

I purchased and administered Budgyt in two separate organizations, as my experience with the first one inspired my purchase when I changed employment. I use it primarily for distribution of monthly financials, monthly actual-to-budget for department heads, and a very involved annual budget process.

Very competitive pricing for a full-featured FP&A package. Excellent support for installation and ability to influence future feature set. Great user security / number of users / number of departments supported.
Cons:
Balance sheet functionality not included in base product; advanced visualizations not included in base product.

Budgyt has a similar feature-set as the alternative products, but was more economical for a mid-size implementation. Also easy to use and less complex in many cases.

Powerful User-friendly Budgeting & Reporting Tool

We adopted Budgyt first and foremost as a new budgeting solution to replace manual, Excel-based process. It quickly became obvious that Budgyt delivers much more, and has become our tool of choice for financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. It is the only finance tool that our non-finance users regularly come to me with compliments and positive feedback about.

Love the Budgyt platform! Very intuitive and easy to use, with capabilities that allow users to get more detailed and complicated as needed. Allows us to enter data in detail (or summary) in a way that makes it incredibly accessible and easy to read for non-finance users, which is ultimately a huge time saver for our finance team. Everyone on the Budgyt team that I have spoken to or worked with from sales to support (including the [sensitive content hidden] who took one of my training/implementation calls) has been awesome. The training was great (the video academy might be my single favorite & most-used/recommended training feature in any program ever), onboarding and implementation were made super easy (as far as those things go), and ongoing support (on the rare occasions it's been needed; it's been mostly out-of-the-box questions/ideas that I've brought up post-go-live) is excellent & very personable - huge shout-out to "budgyt guru" [sensitive content hidden] who has been immensely helpful from day 0 to the present, anticipating our needs at times before we even did.
Cons:
My only 'complaint' is that of several additional features that have been implemented since we began using Budgyt (dashboards, cash flow, balance sheet) I am anxiously-awaiting the #1 item on my wishlist - live integration with Sage Intacct API to eliminate manual import of actual data. But I'm confident that when it arrives it will work correctly.

One of Budgyt’s significant strengths is its cumulative overview. With every department lead's activity feeding directly into the overall budget, you get an efficient, big-picture look at your organization's financial planning. This consolidated view is invaluable for maintaining control and ensuring every department’s budget aligns with broader strategic goals.
Cons:
While the functionality is impressive, there is a minor drawback: the user interface. Some users might find the interface slightly clunky compared to more visually refined alternatives. Budgyt is Awesome!

No more massive spreadsheet with formulas that I couldn't trust other managers to use the file. Previously had to copy their input into my master file. Monthly forecasts were near impossible before. Better accuracy on payroll budgeting. Very simple to create new scenarios and reforecast.

It is great for annual fixed budgets and getting participation from other managers for their areas. Can restrict to just department or accounts that they they manage. Each month I create a forecast, containing combinations of imported actuals with future months as budget. The future months then edited to what managers think will happen, to create a forecast. Can have monthly to prior year and fixed budget while in an account Data Sheet, so can easily see how your forecast compares. Simple to close a forecast to create a new one. And lock prior months as necessary. Bonus is the search field. I can look for something in Actuals scenario, that is easy to find than in our accounting software. Also can run better reports on Actuals, than our accounting software. Support is great, direct help form [sensitive content hidden] the founder himself. Implementation was pretty easy, considering we have 2 companies, multiple departments and require consolidation. We use Budgyt monthly. Very easy to import and export data to our accounting software.
Cons:
Can't think of anything! Maybe just when I clone a scenario and deactivate the prior months formulas, I can't edit even the future months HR formula because there are annual limits that are used. My original estimate was a guess, and now I know what % or annual limits on certain payroll taxes are, but cannot change. [sensitive content hidden] did suggest a workaround though.

Employee and Payroll module in Budgyt has all the capabilities to plan accurately for payroll and employer expenses in multiple states and with a wide variety of employee benefits formula capabilities. Customer support is super capable and fast - if you ever need anything beyond their excellent training video library, which almost always covers my questions.
Cons:
Sometimes keeping up with the way the platform is improved can be a challenge - but the benefit of the improvements outweigh any time spent getting used to the changes over time.

Ability to publish highly functional excel budget reports from inside a cloud based, secure, audited, multi scenario platform that was priced competitively and approachable for new users.

Centage proved to be more complicated and time consuming that we wanted in our team, where the ability to train new users that are not seasoned budgeting experts is needed.

Budgyt is very user friendly and a huge timesaver for me during our most busy time of the year. I like that I can clone my prior budget from prior year and add notes to each line item. I also like being able to review variances from year to year in order to quickly adjust any areas moving into the new budget year that may need attention.
Cons:
The only dislike is importing my financial information from my desktop Quick Books software to the Budgyt software. After a few times of practicing the process, it became easier.
