Easiest frontend application performance monitoring solution I've seen!

Very pleased. It is rare something is as easy to use as the promises in a slick demo always suggest. I would say that 2Steps has been even easier to use than expected. Works great and has already provided advanced warning on multiple occasions of application performance issues in our Citrix environment.

Pros:

Ease of use. Building and scheduling tests with complex workflows is a breeze. I was able to setup tests for many of the applications we are monitoring in just a few minutes. The scheduling options are impressive and the level of granular control not only helps with managing unnecessary alerting but also with efficient consumption of my 2Steps licensing.

Cons:

There is nothing really not to like. It performs as promised and when questions did come up, customer support was quick to address. So far a very smooth process.

Excellent Product

As im working for clients and the environments are quite large, Deploying the 2steps was the best decision that they could take. This is because 2steps offers real time monitoring over the metrics, the performance analysis are very understandable even if you dont have long experiance with 2steps and also the great part is you dont need to spend long hours to detect the issue, or to write the whole new script behind. The tools are amazing for troubleshooting, and from my own experience, i didn't need more then 15 min to resolve the client issues.

Pros:

The most impactful objects in general are the Web pages that are used by the clients. However, with 2steps that makes our life easier and the troubleshooting is very straight forward. I enjoy using the 2steps as there are no codding required, and with one click we can do everything. The integration wasn't complicated as the 2steps app is available in Splunk base and was very easy to deploy that in the clients environment.

Cons:

To be honest, the 2steps is very useful and its very easy to be used even without experience!

2steps review after three months of use

2steps helps us in monitoring overall performance changes for our core business application on a continuous basis. We are able to experience the response time of the system as a real end-user. In case of changes we can directly relate it back to version releases, upgrades, patches, network changes, etc.

Pros:

It's able to handle al type of applications, even the old fashioned client/server based, windows client installations and any local installed application. It's very easy to create recordings and you can build automated test scripts with the same tool to auto test certain scenario's.

Cons:

The reporting part is not that mature. I would like to see easy to use dashboards and integration with BI. The installation and setup also requires expertise from the headquarters in Australia, so there are limits to the time window for support when located in Europe.

Reasons for switching to 2Steps

Ymonitor is twice as expensive and the supplier not willing and able to be flexible in usage and pricing conditions.

Synthetics my mother can use

Holds a lot of promise for customers. Excellent personal support that goes the extra mile. I love how 2steps ties into Splunk for its excellent visualisations means 2steps can focus on what it does well

The ability for someone new to sythetic monitoring to record, replay and schedule a synthetic test is excellent. This makes for end users who 2steps & splunk aren't part of their daily workloads - feasible to record and monitor the plethora of websites Application SME's are dependent on

Cons:

variability of scripts to handle advanced business logic, inability to deploy nodes on windows OS makes expandability to end user offices harder

Easy Tool For App Monitoring through synthetic transactions

It was easy to learn how to use it. And I´m satisfied with the support given by the provider when we had doubts.

The app is easy to use and to integrate with other monitoring platforms. The provider (support team) is willing to give us support any time we needed it.

Cons:

I just can mention, as desired feature, to be able to upload external pictures to which compare from in tests. For example, when we have external screencaptures from exceptional app messages, and we would want to add them in conditionals in a certain step of the 2Steps´s test.

Our overall experience with 2Steps is excellent. Our account manager is easy to deal with and is very responsive, and the platform itself is easy to navigate and access. The ability to review the exception events - such as accessing videos of failed tests - is extremely straight forward.

2 Steps is unique in that it is using computer vision/Image recognition so can work with remote applications without requiring to be installed on the remote host. The team are very responsive.

Cons:

This is a relatively difficult install; however, the staff are very supportive.
