About Microsoft Authenticator

Designed for businesses in education, technology, automotive, manufacturing, retail and other industries, Microsoft Authenticator (part of Microsoft Entra) is an authentication platform that helps users securely log into online accounts through password autofill and multi-factor authentication capabilities. Key features include cloud backup, data encryption, passcodes, push notifications and sign-in approvals.

Using Microsoft Authenticator’s passwordless feature, members can secure their Microsoft accounts via facial recognition, personal identification number (PIN) and fingerprint recognition. It enables users to synchronize account passwords, import passcodes from Google Chrome and approve sign-in requests from different applications. Additionally, the platform provides support via knowledge portal, FAQs, email and phone.

Keep your Microsoft account safe

I am just beyond satisfied when it comes to Microsoft authenticator. I totally recommend it to anyone who has a Microsoft account, it will keep your account safe and secure.

Pros:

Before Microsoft authenticator, I relied on just a password, I went to log into my Microsoft account one day and I was hacked, I finally regained access to my account and I immediately downloaded Microsoft authenticator and It has been the best thing ever. It sends notifications straight to my phone if my Microsoft account is attempted to be logged into and if it's not me I just have to hit deny.

Cons:

The interface can be tricky and confusing if you don't know what you're doing.

No need for passwords to avoid data breach

Overall, I love Microsoft Authenticator as it provides a great sense of reliability as well as privacy and safeguards my date from potential theft. It is way better than saving multiple different passwords on the phone.

Pros:

It is one of the safest way to authenticate myself that I am the authorized user to gain access to app/tool/software/database. Passwords can be hacked, imprints could be stored but gaining access for an unauthorized person via Microsoft Authenticator is not possible.

Cons:

It works with internet connection so if I don’t have internet connection for whatever reasons, I can’t open Microsoft Authenticator and thus can’t gain access to other applications secured by it.

What I like about Microsoft Authenticator that is helps with securely logging in into private programs.

Cons:

Was extremely tricky to set up. I switched phones and I had to call support to help reset it onto my new phone.

Pros:

I like that its a barrier that helps with anyone who may be trying to get into your stuff. Like for me noone can access my workday which is what i use for work, i love that in order to access workday you have to use this with their code they give in order to login!

Cons:

The only thing i can think of, and its not so much bad but more of an inconvenience then anything. Is if you forget your password or get a new phone etc. Then you have to talk to (whomever the company you use this with) tech team and have them reset your account.

MFA is a must. This one integrates with your device and allows for facial recognition.
