Mailinator is an email management software designed to help businesses access text messages, incoming emails and attachments using a private domain. The platform enables administrators to store emails and secure login via single sign-on.

Managers can automatically click on links received via incoming messages, forward or delete emails and handle other daily operations. Additionally, Mailinator offers load testing functionality, which allows teams to verify email receipts on a unified interface.

Great tool for automating email testing!

Pros:

The main feature is that you can set up any email you want with mailinator and it's a permanent email address

Cons:

The only thing really is that the free tier is public, but it's expected as it's free :-)

Reasons for switching to Mailinator

unreliable email routing - some would not be received

Better compatibility and easier to use. Along with the advanced feature on the premium, it helps a lot.

Cons:

I think the UI of this could be better, and there is a pagination issue. I can't go to a certain page or skip to that page.

I can receive some emails, manage them and delete them.

Cons:

A lot of emails do not get received. Just simply disappear.

Mailinator is the best for our use case

It works well for our use case. And makes us create profiles easily, which removes a whole bulk of step from tester's work flow.

Pros:

Flexibility to create email addresses for testing purposes. This makes it easy for us to have lots of profile without the hassle of going through the process of creating email addresses.

Cons:

For our use case, it works work for us. There may be other component of Mailinator we currently do not explore though. It would be great if mailinator have a feature to search email in the mailbox

how easy is to use it. The interface is simple and user friendly which makes easy to find the options

sometimes is complicated to filter emails or find them. Some icons are not very well labeled or to find certain emails can be a bit complicated

Great Testing Tool & Even Better Support

Forgot my password, tried too many times to log in and the account was suspended. Contacted support and they had me back into my account lightning fast.

Great tool for testing apps that require unique email. Email comes into my inbox immediately and consistently.

None really. great product. I would recommend it to others and don't really have anything negative to say about the product or support.

Must have tool for end to end testing

Great experience, fits the need to have email test accounts. And with MFA support, you can have end to end testing with hardened login services (e.g. Azure SSO)

Very easy to setup and use. We managed all our test users identities with Mailinator, was very easy to get a few test account setups.

Cons:

Filtering of incoming emails is not great, becomes overwhelming to find something. SMS feature for MFA was also not easy to use

Able to have many emails in one domain and test workflows. Easy to use no need to pre generate the test email. Just use any new email address and it will work

Cons:

The ux looks old and is clunky. For instance it lets you use some features without logging in and then complaints about it

Super helpful APIs

Overall its a helper testing resource. APIs are super helpful. Documentation are self explanatory and easy to implement. Additionally, performance is a notable pros with mailinator. I will recommend this.

Pros:

I liked how instantly accessible Mailinator is — there's no need to sign up, and I can generate a disposable inbox on the fly to verify email functionality or sign up for services without giving away my personal email.

Cons:

The biggest limitation for me was that public inboxes can be viewed by anyone, which means it's not ideal for anything sensitive. I had to be careful about what kind of emails I used it for.
