Pros:

Metabase helps to get an overview of your SQL data. If you are working with a database that is self-developed, a tool like metabase helps you visualize, filter and make sense of your data. Company-wide and across our Organization, we use metabase to keep track of KPIs and manage our 1p data.

Cons:

To get started, Metabase is not super easy to comprehend. If you want to create custom dashboards or filter views, some SQL programming experience is definitely required. Furthermore, the larger your database, the longer dashboards or filter views take to load. Page Speed could definitely be improved.

Metabase is a great tool if you have analysts proficient in SQL and want a tool you can use to share out across internal and external sources while not requiring too much custom visualization

Ease of use - metabase is very straightforward to get set up initially and for new users to create basic items Flexibility with SQL - metabase's best power is still working with it in SQL but the noCode tools are still good as well

Cons:

Visualization customizability - there is room to grow on allowing more customization and variety in the visualizations

Pros:

The most liked thing about this software is both tech & non-tech folks can use it seamlessly, in a hassle-free manner. You can analyze with the help of Query Language or you can do the same analytically manually, much like excel. It's easily integrable with other software via a generic API. They have a self-hosted version as an offering as well, which you get for free :)

Cons:

It gets too slow when all your team members start using it simultaneously. Many a time system chokes & keep loading for sometimes.

They have a self-hosted open-source offering that is completely free. They are also a market leader; hence more data security & integrity.

This database analytic software is fairly easy to setup and very easy to create reports and input custom SQL queries. You can easily view the SQL that any given report is running.

Cons:

So far I have not found anything I dislike about this software. The DevOps employee had a little bit of difficulty with the initial setup, but after that it was smooth sailing.

Tableau was too expensive and we only had a single license due to this. Metabase is far superior, faster, and cheaper.

It offers fast approach in accessing data and numbers about our company. I do not know much about SQL programming but this software is surely a winner for me because it helps users like me to understand data without having to deal with a lot of coding.

Cons:

It sometimes gets buggy and slow in rendering data. Especially when mutliple users are accessing it. Also, if they add more features on it like more custom filters and table editing like excel.

Be prepared to learn SQL

Considering we have such a large amount of data I was surprised by the good speed and performance the app has. Flexibility is its strongest point but it would be good to see even more effort in focusing on the novice.

Pros:

There's lots of different chart types to choose from, which can make visualising data easier. The dashboards are very flexible and intuitive for users to manipulate with filters. Access to snowflake has been a dream! Creating a basic "Question" is easy but anything more advanced requires editing with SQL

Cons:

Pretty much all the dashboards I need to create requires me to get to grips with SQL. It would be great if there was more flexibility in the visual editor so that I can ramp up my SQL knowledge over time. But right now I'm forced to spend lots of time up front before I can create any of the dashboards I need.

It really helps me with my day to day business decisions as I can query, view data I need to see patterns. It gives comprehensive and detailed information. Its easy to setup dashboards and is intuitive and user friendly as I never needed any training or guide to follow. Its super easy to query and I can save my version of query from an existing question.

Cons:

It sometimes takes very long to load the results. I found the application to be a bit slow. Also, if there would be a way to put my questions into sub categories or folders it would be neater.
