About pfSense Plus

pfSense Plus is a cloud-based solution that provides businesses with security tools to monitor networking processes and prevent cyberattacks. Professionals can use the administrative dashboard to access the blacklist database of blocked IP addresses, configure permissions and generate usage reports.

pfSense Plus allows organizations to conduct stateful packet inspections, automatically backup encrypted data and secure confidential information through SSL encryption. Managers can utilize the GeoIP filtering and layer 7 application detection technology to identify recurrent threats, block web traffic from specific regions and reduce false positive alerts. Additionally, it also lets users control the bandwidth of internet services to regulate network traffic.

Features of pfSense Plus include domain/URL filtering, DNS forwarding, simple network management protocol (SNMP) monitoring and more. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via phone, email and other online measures.

Pros:

What I like most about pfSense plus is the ability to add third party packages (after code security scans) . For example, on top of all the features you can install Snort so you can have a firewall and an intrusion detection and prevention system. I also like that I was able to use it as a certificate authority for my office network. It can run on VM (dual-nic) but their appliance makes it easier.

Cons:

You must have a strong network understanding to configure. Other commercial vendors can be more user-friendly but there is always a trade off.

mon Avis sur Pfsense

Pfsense est un excéllent firewall/Routeur open source basé sur le FreeBsd qui peut agit en temps routeur, parfeu, IDS, IPS. Il a plusieurs fonctionnalités à savoir le portail captif, ips, ids, openvpn ... qu'on trouve gratuitement avec Pfsense contrairement aux autres concurrents ....

open source gratuit, simplification des mise en place de portail captif, des vpns, extensibité avec l'ajout des packages, intégration avec LDAP et active Directory

Cons:

bien pfsense soit un routeur/Parfeu excellent , il reste un peu complexe pour les utilisateurs novices

One of the best Light weight Firewall. Reason to use

I would like to recommend this software for secure your PC. You can have powerful flexible firewall by pfSense. It would be better if some features are improved on next updated.

Everyone are concern regarding pc. I have also realize that one of the better software to secure your pc. Some reason of using pfSense are listed below: - Open Source - Stability - Perfect Load balancer - Rich in features - Simple and easy to configure - Personally, I like UX/UI

Cons:

It would have been better if some features are updated: - I think it is only suitable for small organization - it would be better if it has unlimited VPN - I think GUI will be little bit confusing for beginner
