Great tool for determining where to live

I'm solving my personal problem of determining where to live relative to my workplace and other places I care about. I want to limit my driving time for places I frequent, and OALLEY elegantly solves this problem for me by plotting the area that keeps my driving time within acceptable limits.

I came across OALLEY because I was searching for software that could do what no other mapping application could -- show me what areas are within a certain driving time, relative to a chosen address. I love how simple OALLEY makes this. It makes it seem so easy that it's astounding Google hasn't already done this. Yet OALLEY is as far as I can tell the only application that lets you see this information.

Cons:

I'm not a commercial user, so I deal with the small annoyances that come from using a free trial version of software. However, those aside, I can't see anything negative about this application. It does exactly what it's supposed to, and probably a lot more for commercial applications.

Reasons for switching to smappen

Google Maps didn't have the functionality I was looking for. I could look up driving times between specific addresses, but it didn't give the the general information of an area that would always keep my travel times within acceptable limits.

A walk to the park

I was able to use Smappen very effectively to communicate an analysis of walkability to parks. This was done by our youth participants in high school and guided by our adult mentors. We are presenting the results to the City Council to get them to provide more places to play ball that are within walking distance.

It was easy to use and very quick to implement into reports and studies. The use of multiple areas helped us study how different parks were close to different neighborhoods. We were able to compare walking and biking accessibility.

Cons:

The limits on the free accounts. Also it would be good to know more if Smappen offers free versions for non-profits.

Smappen was just what we needed to map out territories. It was very intuitive and easy to use. I tried a few different apps and this one was the easiest.

Cons:

I'd prefer to have the ability to share my smappen map with others while on the lowest price subscription plan.

It's so easy to use and affordable for companies such as our starting their franchise journey. The customer service and onboarding was fantastic as well!

Cons:

We were concerned at first that Smappen couldn't map the whole of the UK; instead mapping on an individual territory basis. However, it transpires that this isn't an issue at all.

I used Smappen primarily to mark out areas of travel near to a new business start up which I work for. Simply being able to map our area by hours of travel was great! We found several areas on the map were closer than we had thought and were able to focus in on a specific distance range.

Cons:

I was unsure about the practical application use of many of the extra features, even though there are pop-ups and emails which try to sell you on those features. To be honest, I would rather the Geofencing tool be free with some ads on the side than have more complex features try to be shoved to me.
