Pros:

Being a parent this is a great solution to see how your child is doing at nursery.The pros for me are the ease of communication with not only the different nursery departments but the option to send a message to a particular member of staff.

Cons:

I can't really think if any cons with the software, my wife and I have been using the software over 3 years and it's been spot on all the time.

It would be great to have a fully functioning HR aspect with HR advisory support so everything is in one place as we pay separately for this and some things overlap

Easy to use - staff are all very happy with famly, much better than paper observations! Parent friendly - parents all love the system and being able to see their little ones and what they are up to.

Cons:

Being able to edit one child in a group ob would be helpful.

Liked the look of the layout, seemed very easy to use. Also could note own all aspects of the day (nappy changes, sleeps etc) which parents really like.

Expensive but does so much more than other apps it makes it worth it!

Overall, we are happy and feel that despite the few things that could be improved it still feels more user friendly than some of the other choices on the market.

Cons:

Some of the formats and limitations on sections of the app are annoying. Accident forms are lost if the screen times out- there will be no draft. When downloading the accidents the format of CSV confuses the information and it is not clear. A PDF or word doc format would also be brilliant. Staffing attendance and child attendance would be better if managers could adjust the times more easily. The sign in and out page, could be improved by being able to sign more than one in at once and not have to add a leave time. If the interaction with Xero was faster, i.e like banks electronically update Xero with the balances- it would be good if Famly interacted in the same way. Waiting list for sessions, for existing children already enrolled would also be so much better.

Reasons for choosing Famly

There were several other options not listed on your choices above. We liked the free trial's and customer support plus the ever evolving development to keep the service current and user friendly. It was a more expensive choice, but I like the flexibility to alter packages for our needs and financial status at the time.

Cons:

I wish there was an simpler way to manage drop-in fees.

User friendly screens, easy on the eye.

Everything is easy to use and once we got our heads around how the system worked, by trial and error we really do enjoy using the system.

Everything is on one site. Everything is very easy to understand and use. I like the overview page where I can see everything and I don't have to keep logging into seperate children, so I can get all of the information I need in one easy way. We have 11 rooms to monitor at our Nursery, so to get the information in one screen is perfect for us. We find sending messages to parents and staff very easy now, it is like a facebook page, but just for our parents and staff.

Cons:

We would like to not send out all accident forms and meals straight away, we would like to only publish later on in the day, this is because parents disturb your busy day by ringing, everytime they get a message if they are a concerned parent. We would have preferred a trainer to help set us up, rather than the face to face online training we got.

After 4 years of use, it started to go wrong, we lost information that we had stored and updates kept making everything go wrong, or at least change.

Useful Way to Centralize Data & Communication

Very positive, the support team has been beyond helpful as we found ways to adapt the platform to our needs.

Pros:

It provides our families with a central location where they can access their child's schedule, progress reports, communication with teachers/tutors, and invoicing. Our families have loved how simple it is, and while we're struggling to onboard a few parents who struggle with tech, overall it's been a great experience (and honestly these families weren't even using email either, so they were going to be outliers regardless).

Cons:

We work primarily with K-12 and the core curriculum/activities started out as geared more towards daycare and early childhood development. But we knew this going in and were happy to wait on these functions to be further developed (which they are, and recent rollouts have been great).

Reasons for choosing Famly

Better functionality, along with the promise of improved and more functionality that would better support a K-12 program. Most of the needed improvements have been deployed in one form or another in just the year we've been using it.
