Pros:

I like the fact that you can do multiple billing cycles and that you can go in and make changes to a payment as long as it has not posted yet.

Cons:

The fact that you can only take up to $3,000 at one time for families. I sometimes have to do 2 transactions for families that have more than one child for a 5 week month due to it exceeding the $3,000 limit.

Jody - We're so glad to hear that Tuition Express works wonders for your center and that you enjoy the flexibility of multiple billing cycles. It's true there are limits to the amount you can draft in a single transaction for one family as a protection to both the parents and the center. The good news is parents can pay any amount they choose when they initiate the payment themselves either online or at a check-in computer.

I wish Tuition Express offered small business loans/lines of credit based on the volume of sales handled through their software.

Does not sync with the other parts of ProCare

ProCare has too many different things that have similar names but do different things, or that should sync but don't.

Pros:

Because it works with the procare desktop program we've used forever, we can completely customize the billing formulas.

Cons:

1. In order for it to auto-charge credit card fees, the parents can't pay through the app but have to login online. 2. only one login at tuition express.com per school? WHAT? More than one of us works on the billing. Their solution? Give the other person my login info. How is that secure? 3. The Tuition Express button on the desktop version is not the same as tuitionexpress.com and doesn't do the same stuff (and neither is the same as the billing button on the online version!). 4. Getting set up involved 3 separate training meetings to go over different features, but they were all with the SAME person! (Who it turned out didn't know what he was doing-- half the time I was telling him what to click on!)

Reasons for choosing Tuition Express

Customization of billing formulas. We have a super complicated billing system, which Lillio just couldn't handle.

Great software

The benefits we’ve realized by using TE is that we get emails to see when payments are made before they even post to the account. This allows us to better budget when payments are coming in.

The best thing I like most about TE is the convenience of processing tuition payments along with electronic deposits of online payments.

Cons:

The least thing I enjoy is the extra processing fees charged regardless of the amount of business you process.

Made my job easier

Overall, the benefits definitely outweigh the con. Since we had more than half our parents enrolled in automatic withdraws through TuitionExpress, it greatly decrease the beginning of the month rush of parents paying their bills.

As a former childcare director, I love that Tuition Express can be set up to automatically withdraw from a parent's account. In the day and age of convenience, it's nice for parents to have one less payment to have to remember to pay. The best part: their bill gets paid! I also like that I have the option of parents paying in person if they prefer. Being able to swipe their card using the card reader is handy and saves me time so I don't have to manually type in card numbers.

Cons:

We did have the system glitch on the office manager one time. She was trying to charge a customized amount rather than the whole balance and the customer ended up getting charge for the full balance due to this glitch-the screen went black for half a second. (It's hard to say if that was the internet or the software however) Unfortunately, there isn't a way to add the balance back onto the account so our company owner could only reimburse the customer via a check.

I do not recommend this product for payment processing. I use tuition express because it was supposed to make my life easier. It indeed has not.

I don't like it at all. I'm constantly having to auto import payments and refunding late fees because payments aren't posting to the accounts

Cons:

There is nothing easy about tuition express. It is not user friendly.

It was a all in one encompassing program that went with the childcare management software. We have since switched at our belvidere and mchenry locations and are working on switching the remainder schools.
