About IntelliBid
IntelliBid is an electrical estimating software designed to streamline the estimating process for electrical, low voltage, datacom, and solar contractors. The software provides tools and features to create accurate and consistent estimates quickly and easily.
The software includes a database of electrical, low voltage, datacom, and solar material items, and pre-built assembly kits. This extensive database, combined with specification-driven digital takeoff capabilities, allows users to produce estimates faster and with greater accuracy. Features such as Auto Labor Factoring, Phase Breakdown, and integration with SureCount Takeoff software further streamline the estimating workflow.
More advanced users can access additional features in the IntelliBid Plus and Pro editions, including Smart Substitution, Enhanced Proposals, and Bid & Job Analysis. The Electrical Formulas add-on provides calculation tools for voltage drops, fault current, lighting requirements, and more. IntelliBid is available in cloud-based and on-premises deployment options to integrate with the user's existing infrastructure.

Setup Takes Time, but the Payoff Is Worth It

IntelliBid does have a learning curve, but once it’s properly set up and tailored to your workflows, it can be a tremendous asset to your estimating team. The time invested upfront pays off in efficiency and consistency down the line.

This company is the poster child of the lackluster customer service that exists with many software companies that exploit a revenue with perpetuity business model. They want to sell you the software to install locally on your computer, then they want to sell you a subscription based "support and upgrades" package for each 12 month period following. If you let the subscription lapse and then intend to renew, they will not adjust the end date on the support... instead they expect you to pay full price for less than a year's worth of support. Nevermind the fact that you received absolutely no benefits during the lapsed period, they will constantly remind you that their software team didn't stop working during that lapse period, as well as how unfair any concessions might be to other customers that pay the same price with no lapsed periods. They clearly don't understand the notion of overhead or their own ability to build in average lapsed periods into their support pricing. They are greedy, greedy people, whose only goal is to sell you on the software upfront. Once you are a customer, you can forget about ever being treated with value and respect again.

The video demonstration made it look very efficient and fast, which is not the case when you have to do take off in the real world on drawings that are not nice and clear like the ones used in the demonstration.
