Excellent for multiple types of contracts

5

Positive. We've had a slow rollout to the rest of our company, but it has helped our initial tiger team get a handle on complex compliance and organization issues for a wide range of differing contracts.

Pros:
Contract Works was my first foray into contract management software so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I appreciate most the easy way of creating and adjusting templates and tags.
Cons:
The explanation language around alerts (contract dates) isn't as straightforward, for the way my brain works, as it could be.

Reasons for switching to ContractWorks

More features that created action steps instead of just a secure box to hold the contracts in.

Pros:
I like the sign/signature process and the ability to change recipients if you get an update to a signer. Also, I like the Ask Me Anything sessions every week.
Cons:
You can't send a signed document from ContractWorks twice.

Reasons for switching to ContractWorks

Better contract management, I assume. The switch happened before I became the contract administrator.

Vendor Response

Sending contracts out is a good thing

4

Hunting down wet signatures and having to mail paper envelopes is now gone and this has been a godsend for my desk space. Eliminating the errors that occurred when clients would create their own contracts is great. I also no longer have to send multiple follow up emails to approvers due to the notifications. All of the documents are stored in one place therefore I am less likely to go crazy searching for documents.

Pros:
The electronic signing has been working well as clients have been signing timely which is an enormous help because I never liked sending reminders to clients. I thought the mobile app would be crashing during a visit to the doctor's office last week but that did not occur. All the document versions are being kept straight therefore I do not have to dig through several different email threads to locate the correct pdf.
Cons:
The loading of documents takes forever, especially if the document is large. Creating the workflows was extremely difficult and took far too much time. I still am unsure about how the workflow logic works. When I uploaded a word document the spaces between the words got all messed up and the signature lines do not line up with the text that is entered into the document and the contract looked like a disaster to the client.

Works like a pro

5

Now I don’t have to waste half of my time searching the world for one piece of paper. It keeps the amount of work from becoming overwhelming during times when we have a large number of renewal contracts due at the same time. I am now able to inform the vendors regarding their renewal status without having to attempt to recall the details and look like an idiot.

Pros:
It is surprising that I was able to connect to google drive and it didn’t crash. Although my desk is covered in old sticky notes and cold coffee, at least all of the vendor contracts are located in one place now. I am able to locate the old contracts when I am required to complete contract reviews and I no longer have to search the entire office. The calendar reminders for the renewal dates also appear in my email inbox so far I have not missed a renewal date thank goodness. It is okay for our needs since it does not have hundreds of additional confusing buttons that I will never click.
Cons:
Sometimes the AI is pretty dumb and believes that a contract terminates as soon as it is signed which is ridiculous and has caused me to correct this manually. I am unable to drag and drop files to relocate them so I’m clicking like crazy. Occasionally the site freezes when I’ve opened too many browser tabs and it gives me a headache.

I really like how well the automation stuff manages paperwork for me

Right now, I’m sitting in this cold, broken air conditioning office but at least I’m able to avoid manually routing every single piece of paper. It has made compliance easier, although setting it all up was a nightmare.

Pros:
E-signatures are sent directly to whoever they need to go to instead of sending me around the office looking for someone to sign in person. I also found that the urgent document notifications actually make it into my inbox and aren’t always being flagged as spam. All of my papers are stored in one place so I won’t lose track of the chaos.
Cons:
It’s very slow uploading large files and most of the time I’m just watching the loading symbol spinning on my computer while I wait for something to happen. My password gets requested by the log in screen constantly and it’s extremely frustrating entering it every ten minutes. Searching for an old contract, however, is extremely painful because the search bar does little to nothing and almost never locates anything I want to find. Automation eliminates the cluttered email trail that fills my inbox and creates a headache for me.

Keeps contract chaos under control

5

The biggest benefit is not having to chase down missing contracts or deadlines as we were able to stop tracking the deadlines manually. All of it is stored securely in a single location and you have visibility into the status of renewals and signatures. It has streamlined how I address contract lifecycles and it saves me hours every week and dramatically lowers the risk that important dates or compliance steps will be overlooked.

Pros:
I use ContractWorks to have all of our company's contracts organized, accounted for and managed in one place. What I love most is ease of uploading and categorizing agreements as I can tag, search, pull up a document in seconds which is a massive time saver over what I’d have to do by dredging through shared drives. The automatic reminders for important dates (renewals, expirations) have come in clutch when working with multiple client contracts at the same time.
Cons:
The reporting setup does at times feel a bit restricted, I'd like to have more of an ability to build out dashboards easily without exporting data into Excel. Occasionally a bulk uploading of files or metadata edit will be more time consuming than anticipated and that does not allow me to move as rapidly during times when the work load is at peak levels. And even though the interface is clean it still takes a new user several minutes to figure out how folder permissions and document tagging work correctly.

Keeps the NDA mess sorted so I can finally go home.

5

We were previously emailing Word Docs back and forth and lost track of versions all the time. With this program I can now see the redlines in one place which helps me avoid errors. I need to go get lunch soon, the cafeteria is going to be closed. This program prevents our sales guys from using outdated templates that are legally incorrect and prevent us from getting in trouble.

Pros:
Honestly I'm happy the Salesforce integration works as expected, it does not crash when pulling the data; it's very good at handling the hundreds of NDAs we receive; it saves me time by not having to chase people for their signature on an ongoing basis (every ten minutes) - nice to know who is holding things up without sending five e-mails.
Cons:
I hate searching for files; specifically the search bar, if you do not put quote marks, it will act stupid and cannot find the file. They keep changing the layout and moving buttons, I got tired of that after getting use to the old way of doing things. Training new employees is difficult because no body want's to view the Academy videos. The support team is acceptable however they sometime just lead you in circles until they fix the issue.

Pros:
With my mouse clicker sticking today, the fact that I do not need to click on something 1000 times to upload an item is great. It is really a combination of Google Docs and electronic signature services, I was somewhat shocked that there wasn’t a hidden cap on the number of signatures available through the unlimited signatures service.
Cons:
It can some times really make a mess of the formatting when posted. There is no native system spellchecker.
