Reliable backups, excellent interface.

I've used other backup software in the past and I can say this is the best one I've ever used, hands down.

Pros:

Backups are reliable and easy to implement at any time. You can store multiple weeks or even months of backups at a time, and restoring data when needed is a snap!

Cons:

Getting help from SolarWinds support can take a few days if they're busy; a very good knowledge base is available to all users and can usually resolve most issues, but speaking to an actual engineer for difficult troubleshooting can be difficult to get started.

Reasonably positive - Again the licensing seems to be a little confusing when trying to remove users

Set and Forget - To get going once you have created the link between Cove and M365 you do not have to worry about things being backed up

Cons:

Portal licensing can be confusing when removing users from M365 and still being charge for Cove license

Reasons for switching to Cove Data Protection

Continuum Recover was what we were using and we moved to Cove due to better pricing for the same result

Horrible services

Absolutely horrible to deal with. They seem to know nothing about RMM or managed backup services. I question if they are even legit, as they continue to charge for services even after notification of cancellation.

The only good thing I can say is that the software basically worked, kind of. Other than that I cannot think of anything nice to say about them.

Cons:

BEWARE, they will continue to charge you after you cancel service. Terrible technical support. The software is archaic.

The amount we save by them not charging by the TB! The automatic restoration testing with email results is also a great feature! Having to buy no hardware is also great!

Cons:

Sometimes some of the machines will have errors or miss a day of backups.

We wanted a backup located on the cloud so it couldn't be touched by Ransomware.

Cove Data Protection came through

An example on where it worked well. One of my clients was using a virtual server. A ransomware attack came from the main server where the virtual server was hosted. We were able to roll back the system state twice during the issue to remove the ransomeware. The client lost no data.

No problems with the initial on-boarding of a new customer and no problems pulling an old file so far.

Simplicity and reliability. Failed backups are far, far less frequent than our previous provider. Getting a new machine or customer in pretty easy.

Cons:

No complaints so far, I haven't had too much experience having to pull backups yet. I'm sure as more issues arise from downed machines, we'll get more time pulling backups, but so far everything is working as expected.

The system is easy to use. Affordable. If you are looking for an easy to use backup system with no onsite infrastructure costs, this is it.

Easy to set up Reasonable cost No on-premise footprint We were looking for a backup system to back our M365 data. But we can’t afford the expensive onsite infrastructure due to limited resources. Cove Data Protection fits the requirements for us.

Cons:

Nothing I can think of It fits very well for what we need as a small business. You can have the system up and running very quickly.

Cove Data protection is ideal for MSPs, it blends a lightweight backup agent, cloud storage, and remote DR site facilities. By far the most profitable backup product we have ever run.

Cons:

some inflexibility on DR site configuration - we would like to have a local and remote but can pick only one DR site recovery target.
