Amazon RDS vs MySQL: Which is best for you?

Amazon RDS simplifies database management with automated backups, scaling, and maintenance, reducing operational overhead.

There are no major issue but pricing model comparison to on premise setup is costly & cluster updates sometimes delay the business operation & any production deployment.

Biggest benefit that I see with MySQL is it supports addition of columns to desired position (using BEFORE and AFTER keyword), this basic functionality is not provided with premier tools like Postgre SQL.

Compared to other databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle, MySQL lacks some advanced features such as full-text search and partial indexes, which may be a limitation for certain use cases.
