About axiUm
axiUm Dental is a HIPAA-compliant, ONC-ATCB certified system that includes electronic health record (EHR), billing and practice management applications. It was designed to address the needs of educational institutions, such as dental hygiene schools and dental organizations with multiple locations. It also includes an orthodontics and periodontics module, with applications tailored towards these specialty practices.
This product is an on-premise system that includes a patient portal and a faculty portal for teachers which shows class rosters and student procedure information. Faculty members are able to record grades and course evaluations to track student progress throughout the program.
axiUm’s practice management application allows users to attach patient photos to charts, view appointments and referrals and keep track of patient communication.
The transactions module connects to a patient’s health record to create a ledger of their account. Within this module, billing arrangements can be made and various insurance provider information can be entered.

Overall good and viable option in the era of technology. Difficult but nice experience rather than old paper chart era.

Not user friendly at all
2
I think that this software is clunky, not user friendly, it is not even appealing to the eyes when looking at it. It looks like it has never been visually updated since the 90s. This program greatly adds to things running slow in the clinic and almost daily our tech guy is sending us emails of how to do some little thing because it is so complicated on Axium. Do not buy Axium if possible.

AxiUm dental software review

AxiUm is a good dental system to use. It's an all-in-one place to go for patient records and financial billing. It's relatively easy to use and requires minimal training for both students, residents and financial staff.

My experience with axium started out negative due to the learning curve and outdated layout, but once I became comfortable, it worked just as needed.

The worst user interface ever devised

My university has committed itself to this program like a battered woman defending her abusive husband. Its really really really bad and they still have us do everything the old style because this is so inefficient. Yet the keep it around and tell us its hear to stay "because it says 'educational' on the package". I want to leave this university just because of this software.

Axium review- dental student
2
Overall I have to say my experience is poor with Axium. I understand it in the scope of a teaching environment, but it does not have a very intuitive layout, and is very in pleasing to look at. In the future I will look to other softwares for dental management.

Outdated dental software
2
AxiUm records everything you would need for your dental patients. It has medical, dental, social and nutritional histories that you can input. It has a tab for radiographs and treatment planning. It has an odontogram and you can even put probing depths on the perio tab. It has everything you need, but the look and feel of the program feels very outdated like a pin ball video game from the 90's.
