Bento reduces friction and makes it easy to send

5

I've used numerous email service providers throughout my long marketing career, each with idiosyncrasies. Before switching to Bento, I had problems with overwhelming spam signups requiring administrative time. Then, a clunky email editor created so much friction that I didn't even want to send my newsletter. If you're not sending, you're not marketing. My primary goal was to find an ESP that eliminated friction and made sending fast and easy. I appreciated the free trial. I also received several onboarding emails that helped me get acclimated and set up correctly. Although I am not entirely using all the features, I solved the problem of getting my newsletter sent weekly. I'm impressed with the team, the tools, and the support I've received.

Pros:
Ease of use. The interface is simple, and it's easy to find precisely what you need. There are multiple ways to build out an email, reducing the friction of clunky editors that make sending emails harder than they need to be. I especially love the Shoji AI-enabled editor that makes writing an email super simple.
Cons:
It took a little bit of time to get used to all of the various options.

Reasons for switching to Bento

Clunky editor that made sending much more difficult.

The best CRM I've had the pleasure to use

Pros:
Easy to set up, the feature set they make available to you without hiding stuff behind a crazy expensive paywall is a delight. The customer support in getting set up has been top-notch. A platform you can tell the people running it truly care about.
Cons:
Had a couple of issues with a non-standard implementation and getting custom events tracked from a Woocommerce subscription plugin, but with a bit of help from their excellent documentation, I was able to resolve this.

Reasons for choosing Bento

Price, feature set, pricing tiers (knowing I won't get into high-billing territory once my business starts growing)

Reasons for switching to Bento

MailChimp is expensive, and I don't like CRM platforms that tier their pricing based on either email send volume or user count.

Wonderful Platform with a Steep Learning Curve (but worth it!)

I loved the onboarding process and conversations. I've felt very cared for and supported. This is a tool we will be able to grow with because it's so versatile.

Pros:
I love that I can pull in sources like Stripe and send transactional emails from Stripe to get the full picture of my email marketing subscribers, membership members, and customers. It's also a small company where you get a lot of personalized support.
Cons:
It can be overwhelming to get started. It has a lot of options and the language is different than, say MailChimp or Kit, but the functionality outweighs the learning curve for me.

Reasons for choosing Bento

For us, it was really the only system where we could get a full profile, plus web tracking and chat without exceeding our budget.

Reasons for switching to Bento

We tried to connect with MailerSend (a MailerLite company) for our transactional emails and the process was difficult. MailerLite is also very limiting and we have more advanced needs which Bento can more than handle.

Where was Bento all my life?!

5

I use Bento for email marketing and transactional notifications, allowing me to broadcast campaigns to customers and newsletter subscribers. The platform is intuitive, beautiful, and functional, with quick signup workflows that let me streamline my tasks. I also integrate my own software with it via API.

Pros:
I love how intuitive and beautiful Bento is in its design, making it a seamless experience to use. Everything just works flawlessly, allowing me to quickly go through sign-up workflows without any hassle. This efficiency means I can focus on my core work instead of being bogged down with setting up email workflows or handling cumbersome tasks. Bento simplifies my life by being efficient and user-friendly, ensuring that I get to dedicate my time to the most important aspects of my job.
Cons:
Nothing. Can't complain whatsoever! Yes, there could be more AI automation, but that's a new territory and they're actually coming up with customer support with AI and I'll be first in line to try it when it comes out!

Pros:
I love how great the API is to work with to integrate with my website and Slack. I also love how kind, and FAST support is from the core team and community members on discord (it is shockingly good), I also like the different email editing experiences too which allow me to use a drag n drop, and straight Code editing experience too. Deliverability is great as is the team's deep focus on getting your emails into your customer's inbox.
Cons:
I wish the docs on how to warm up an ip were in the beginner section.

Reasons for choosing Bento

It was the goldilocks solution for what we needed for functyionality / price.

Great email platform that is different to others with some minor cons

4

I really like Bento because of the built in tracking for website+email. Its easy to just send one off emails or use AI to build more advanced flows to build out a customer journey. It's a great product however I think they should hire one or more staff/ambassadors that help create more video tutorials or help guides for best practices when setting up flows, campaigns and broadcasts.

Pros:
Tracking for websites+email is really awesome. The detailed and technical expertise from the [sensitive content hidden] in the Discord for support questions is REALLY good. The set up process for tracking is easy. Creating a flow is really awesome once you get the hang of it. Theres a lot of features in Bento that is impressive.
Cons:
Takes a while to understand and set up. The trial was not enough time for me to fully understand and use the product as a one man business owner. I tried to get a demo walkthrough but it got cancelled. Would probably need some more staff that do demos of the product, or have more video tutorials showcasing how to set things up. Its not for the complete beginner I'd say.

Reasons for switching to Bento

Mailchimp is expensive and feels too big today

Moved to Bento from Hubspot and never looked back!

5

Great experience so far. We transitioned from Hubspot. It's 1/5th the cost, has much better support, and is easier & faster to use. The API has been a joy to use compared to Hubspot. Super happy we made the switch!

Pros:
It's very fast to navigate and move around. The support is phenomenal and the power user touches are everywhere. There is also a very big focus on deliverability, and making sure you have things setup correctly.
Cons:
It can take a bit to figure out how it all works - it's laid out a little differently than 'traditional' CRM or email marketing software. But once you get it's point of view, everything makes sense!

Reasons for switching to Bento

Hubspot's high cost, and complex UI. Hubspot has so many features gated behind a paywall - I was paying a LOT, yet barely had access to half the features.

Deliverability is 100% for me. Emails land in the inbox, not Spam. Domain setup (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) was simple, and reputation stays clean. Support replies very fast with real fixes, not scripts. Good value.
Cons:
A bit more detail can be added documentation but that is not a problem, they are always helping 24/7 when you have problems.
