IDU-Concept is a budgeting, forecasting, and reporting system for midsize to large businesses in a wide variety of industries. In addition to these functions, the system also helps companies track spend, manage their assets and equipment, and more.

IDU-Concept can be deployed in the cloud and paid as a monthly subscription, or purchased outright and installed on a local server, based on the preference and needs of each business. The Financial Reporting module aims to enhance visibility and provide full access to constantly updated, accurate data. The Revenue Reporting module allows users to comment on and analyze revenue data in real-time. It also helps calculate anticipated outcomes, predict risk, and report on past numbers.

Alerts are automated and customizable, notifying users whenever new information is uploaded into the database, or a particular data set needs attention.

IDU - Lifechanger in Foskor

We've been using IDU-Concept as our budgeting tool, and it has met our expectations well. The system is user-friendly and allows for efficient input, consolidation, and reporting of budget data across departments. Its integration with our existing ERP has streamlined our planning process, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy. While the interface could benefit from some modern updates, the functionality is solid and reliable. Support from the IDU team has also been responsive and helpful. Overall, IDU-Concept provides a satisfactory solution for our budgeting needs and has added real value to our financial planning process.

The fact that the entire company budget is easy to compile, access and view.

Cons:

So far there is no option for someone to maybe sign-off on a budget online and a "copy" of the sign-off document can be saved as proof that a budget is completed, approved and accepted.

We chose IDU-Concept because it offered a strong combination of functionality, integration capabilities, and local support. The Best Budgeting Software

With various departments, IDU has assisted with budgetary control - spend monitoring. Looking forward, we hope to have the managers query financial transactions for more accurate management reporting.

Pros:

The fact that its excel based makes it easy to use. The user flexibility and customization makes IDU perfect for reporting.

Cons:

Still trying to figure out how the CAPEX tracking can work best for our organisation (reporting especially). If IDU can have the ability to assist in CAPEX spend tracking it will be superb.

The customisation of the reports, as well the level of security for access. The customer service we received.

Cons:

I cannot drill down to transaction level in the income statement. Dashboards are complex to create and it not security friend for user access.

IDU - Simply the best for what we do

Wits has used IDU for over 15 years. In this time we haven't changed the way we use the tool and it's basic functionality still works well for us.

It is such a simple tool to develop, use and maintain. The consultants and the help desk are great and ever ready to help.

Cons:

There is currently nothing that I don't like. We keep our interaction with IDU as simple as possible for all our users. We hardly ever have any significant issues and errors.

Great budgeting tool

It's been a positive experience using IDU. Although there was a bit of learning curve required to grasp how to use it but now it's simple.

It's a good system that has a lot of functions needed for budgeting. It's great value for money as well.

Cons:

I am not sure if it's related to the current version of the software we use but I think the user interface could be made better.

Reasons for switching to IDU-Concept

Excel does not offer greater control and visibility of our budgets.

Highly Effective Budgeting and Reporting Tool

IDU-Concept adopts a very professional approach to implementation with a robust project plan and a dedicated project manager and implementation manager. This resulted in a very successful implementation that was achieved on time and under budget. Their post-implementation support has been fantastic, our business did not sign a support contract with them, so all our service requests have been ad-hoc , however I have never waited more than 60 mins for a response and every query was resolved adequately and immediately. I would highly recommend IDU-Concepts.

IDU-Concept automated the complete budgeting and forecasting of our Group of companies and has reduced the time to complete our annual budgets from months to days!

Cons:

The user interface is slightly complicated at first, however this is overcome quite quickly. The interface is due some modernization. To be fair to IDU-Concept there have been regular updates and enhancements to the interface.

This is life changing software. We have strealined our budgeting , forecasting and reporting processes to produce high quality and credible reporing and information to make business decisions. One version of the truth . We all see the same thing at the time . No more spreadsheets and constant version changes.

Cons:

Enhancements could be made to the aethetics look and feel of the application. I am aware this is alredy in the next update. Very excited about it.

Our budgeting process and reporting using IDU-Concept is much more efficient and the ease with which you can make changes via uploads from Excel and have reports available in real time makes forecasting and scenario planning easier.

The ease of use and integration with our finance system to load and upload budgets and actuals assisting in reporting across the organisation. Easy to learn and understand.

Cons:

As we are receiving what we require from the system there are not really any system CONS, other than the lack of time we have to get more from the system and use other modules.

Easy to use and navigate Flexible and able to accommodate the changing needs of the business Prompt response of the consultants

Cons:

IDU system currently does not have E procurement module therefore it necessitates use of different systems which may have intention issues
