Pros:

We use Yardi for property management and accounting, so it integrates seamlessly with those two systems. Reporting on our pipeline through the portal is very helpful and document storage and distribution works great. Managing commitments and investment transactions is pretty straight forward and easy to edit if needed.

Cons:

It's definitely not as good-looking and more clunky than some other investment management software. And customer support turnaround times can be days or weeks.

Time Saver

Overall, we've had a great experience with Investment Manager. I'm able to complete our quarterly reporting in 2-3 days by myself. Before Investment Manager, it would take 2-3 people 2 weeks to do.

Pros:

Once everything is set up, it greatly reduces the amount of work needed on a quarterly basis. Accruals and distributions are now calculated with Investment Manager and can be run in much less time. We were also able to automate the report that goes to our investors quarterly, saving days of work each quarter.

Cons:

The transfer function is clunky and not very intuitive to use.

User interface not very difficult to navigate through the site customer service- available team when needed

Cons:

we were introduced to some of the functionality during the sales process which later we noted the challenges with them and prevented us from using them It will only be a site where we store documents and summary of investments but it will not replace or help with any of our reporting files

Customizable Features for setup and integration into property accounting information/software.

Cons:

There is always a lag with the data or upgrades. When we email out to investors, there is a hiccup and it takes a really long time to send out monthly correspondence for all 200+ emails. Seems that the testing done for the product is done thoroughly when upgrades or was initially rolled out.

Prefer to have Yardi as 1 location for IM and property accounting so it is all in one place instead of multiple places.

We have found Yardi Investment Manager to be a great tool because it integrates directly with our back office accounting systems for our fund accouting. It also has a consistent interface that's fairly easy to navigate.

Cons:

The Fundraising feature is focused on individual property investments rather than pooled fundraising in a Fund with many investments. We don't use that feature for that reason

The ability to have both Debt Manager and Investment Manager work in tandem to accurately record all of our transactional activity provides a seamless integration between our front line staff and back office Finance team. This has reduced redundancies, inconsistencies and duplication of data entry and provides much better control and governance.

Cons:

A more intuitive user interface would be helpful to provide greater access to the system to various team members.

This module allows significant visibility into the Investment data that is stored within Yardi. It allows quick and easy access to KPI that will help business decision makers make quicker, more effective decisions.

Cons:

There is an issue we've run into with showing both Occupancy data along with Returns data, but that could be a function of our structures and where we store each bit of data. It would be helpful if we were able to utilize the Ownership Map table to show data at each level on a single widget.

We have a directive to eliminate technical debt, and since we use Voyager as our main application, we try to keep everything in a single stack.
